Adoption?

Unlike me friend, who shall remain nameless, who successfully killed all of her pets as a kid, I gave 'em away before I could kill them.

My pet should be dead, but it's not so now I'm thinking about giving him up for adoption (and keep my record clean) and instead adopt a newbie.

So what do people think? What's best to adopt a pet or a newbie? Big advantage you don't have to feed the newbies. Besides my sisters friend is up for adoption and I do love to tease my sister and by adopting her friend I think I could stirr something.

Wouldn't it be kinda fun if you could exchange your pet with a newbie and you could feed them sterioids and have battles and stuff like that, jippie, jippie yeaj.

To adopt or not to, that is the question.
 
I think that once you have a pet you should keep that one, and not just turn in it when you forget to feed it because it's easier.

Completely agree. It is totally irresponsible. If you make a commitment, you should stick with it.

Now only to convince the local....well everyone who isn't my immediate family, this year alone I got a hamster, a gerbil, a weasil, two dogs, & one thing I can't pronounce much less spell, they all know I love cats and they give me anything but cats.
 
I don't think that people should give pets as presents unless they are sure that's what the person really wants. If someone doesn't really want a pet then they are less likely to give it all of the TLC it needs.
 
I make sure they get plenty of TLC. The hamster, gerbil, & weasil were all donated to elementary schools who have class pets. The two dogs were donated to school that speciallizes in the intellectually challenged. The whatchamacallit I am trying to find a place to take it, it scares me because it likes to stare at you (at least me) and lick its lips hungrily.

I thougt we were talking about the board pets?
 
Well it all started with the board pets, but then quickly became a metaphor for life, but now I'm back to the board pets vs. the board newbies. Everything clear as crystal?

Ah. So you decided what to do yet?
 
I have my sisters blessing, so I think I will adopt a newbie and perhaps keep my pet as well.

However I think the rulers of this site should consider my suggestion with the sterioieded newbies. Admit it, it would be so fun to have newbie battles.

Well we want to encourage newbies not scare them away. Besides keeping a newbie only for the purposes of feeding and fighting is slavery and thats would be an infringement of their human rights 😉
 
Life huh? I'm even more cunfused now but it's all good 😀
But really, maybe it would be good for the newbies to be fed steroids? Or, maybe not..?
 
This thread is very wacky...I think going with a newbie is a good idea...since the Pets may have all gone to a better place for good 😀

Now it's done, I have adopted. I am the proud foster parent of Rory and BigBad. Just so you know it';s so much more fun to adopt a newbie than a pet, more feedback if you know what I mean.

So here they are, let me introduce Rory and BigBad. Come on don't be shy, introduce yourself and get to know the OTboard.
