Okay, so I've fancied this guy at school for ages. Everyone knows now, even him, we get on great, and we sit next to each other in a few lessons. I really like him, but my friend keeps interferring and pushing him away, he told one of my friends that he's not sure if he likes me, and I don't know if I should take that as a positive message or a negative message. I don't wanna wait to long, but I'm really shy, so I don't know if I should ask him out or not, most people keep telling me to give it time, but we've known each other for a long time, and I don't know what to do.

You're young. Take time in your life to be you and enjoy just having fun.
1. Tell your friend to mind her own beeswax.

2. Spend some time with him, one-on-one if possible, and try to get a feel for his feelings (heehee).

3. If (1) works and (2) seems positive, go for it! The hardest part is actually getting up the nerve to ask him out. After that, at least you know one way or the other, and if it was yes, YAY!

4. If he says no, don't let it get weird between you; you can still be friends and maybe someday he'll come around as long as you don't turn all stalker. 🙂

Are you friends?

If you're friends, I say don't pursue anything until you get out of school. Case in point: me. My senior year of high school, I dated a friend whom I had known from the age of 12. I broke up with him at the end of senior year for a variety of reasons, all of which had been discussed at the beginning of the romantic portion of the relationship. He pretty much never spoke to me again. I ruined a friendship with that one. Later, in college, I dated another friend whom I had known from the age of 16. We got married.

If you value your friendship, then I say wait to pursue the dating thing until after. You may miss your chance, but you'll also miss all of the high school relationship drama. Granted, you'll probably have that with someone else, but you won't ruin a friendship over it.

Don't ask him to be your bf. Ask him out for a coffee, or hot chocolate and donuts, lol. Sorry..I mean just ask him to go somewhere with you, where there's no real pressure and you can get to know each other. People put pressure on other people, and then you miss out on things. If you two take the time alone to chat maybe you will both figure it all out.

Well, the girl who was annoying me butted out, which yay. But I'm still really shy. I've only ever had one boyfriend before (Come on, I'm only twelve here 😛) but I really like him, I just don't want to ruin our friendship *Frowns* I'll try out your advice though, thanks guys 🙂

Honey, if you're only 12, you have PLENTY of time. Don't think you HAVE to pursue something with this guy right now. Try to be friends and let things develop on their own from there. Friendships are GREAT foundations for relationships--as Xander said, "I like to think of it less as a friendship and more of a solid foundation for future bliss" (or something like that).

If it helps, I didn't have a boyfriend until I was 19, and I married him. 🙂

You need to have many bfs/gfs in life. I think if you don't have life experiences you can end up regretting settling down before you take more chances. But you don't have to do it at 12 is all. I think if I didn't have the bfs I had things would be different.

Take notice of ' Boyfriends according to Amanda '.
When a boy hits you it means he like you right ? Amanda asked Buffy.
So if I pushed his face into ground a few times, does that mean I like him ?,
( that may have been the reason why the teacher wanted me to speak to you ).

Oh man, I remember all those feelings...and they just plain suck!

I'd say, just keep being friends for now. Some of the greatest relationships start out as great friendships. (but also, they can be the worst!)

If he does like you, or isn't sure, that'll give him time to decide and still be in your life. If you go for it, and he's not totally interested or unsure, he might pull away from you and then you haven't got him as a friend.

My husband and I were friends for a year in high school. He was a sophomore, I was a junior. When I became a senior, we started dating. We've been together for eight years now. I think our friendship helped us through being a 'high school sweetheart couple'. We had to make it through his senior year when I was out of school, and then he went to college before me (I did eventually join him).

Just be patient hun!

Okay, seriously I am reading and taking all your advice my saying 'Okay' just means I'm too lazy to reply to each individual person 😛 I'm tryin' to give it time, I just get nervous and start babbling, which makes me feel stupid 😛

Hang in there. That side of life definitely gets easier when you get a little older. You won't always babble or be nervous.

I very much disagree with you, but I'm not going to start a fight over it. Just needed to register my disagreement.
