Hi, i just found out today that one of my friends dad died before christmas, she doesnt go to my school, and she never has, but i still see her outside of school, we text each other a lot, i just need some good advice. What should i act like around her? Should i be sensitive, happy, myself? Ive had people die in my family, but ive never had a friend lose someone so close to them, what should i do?

Best advice I can give, just be yourself, and the rest will come naturally. Once you see her and talk to her you will know how to be with her - let her be your guide so to speak - plus just give her a big hug. 😉 I am sure she will appreciate that and a hug between friends never goes amiss. 🙂

i agree with you Anya thats the best thing you can do with your mate

When my best friend died and I saw his widow I just talked to her as usual and at some point merely mentioned that if she wants to talk I will be there for her.
Otherwise, act as you would have acted when her dad was still there to provide her with as much normality as possible. If she starts talking about him, try to recall times when you had fun and laugh about all those funny things you did. Remembering a person is the most important part of grieving for loved one. Keeping them alive in your memory is what keeps them in your midst. A body can die but a soul only dies if it is forgotten.

i know some one whos nan recently died, i can honestly say go with Anya's advise.

yeah, go with anyas advice, my friends mother died recently, i didn'y know what to do either so i acted normal, but didn't ignore the fact that her mother died either. i think people need that element of normalsy in their lives, just to help them through their situation.
