Affected the Buffyverse the most?

Who, out of everyone ever mentioned or seen, do you think had the most affect on the Buffyverse?

You could argue anyone or anything from the Old Ones and the Shadow Men to Willow or Andrew.

I'm going to say Willow...

* Willow was the one responsible for Angelus turning back into Angel 2X...the first of which brought back an ensouled Angel to Season 3 to help defeat the Mayor, and the Second time brought Angel back to defeat Jasmine from her attempt to mass mindrape the world and eat people.

* Willow forever changed the slayer line on two different occassions...without her magical strength, Xander, Anya and Tara would not have been able to bring Buffy back in Season 6 and the obvious changing of the potentials in Season 7.

* If it weren't for Willow weakening Glory, Buffy might have had a much harder time.

* Willow's magic was a necessary component for the final battle of Season 4. I doubt that without her, Giles and Xander would have been able to carry off such a powerful spell.

* Season 6 - Willow's magic soars out of control and to levels of gigantic proportions.

That's all I got for now...

barring groups like W&H, the council, etc, I'd say the singular being who had the most impact was Darla. She sired Angelus, who not only went on to become the scourge of Europe, but also the first ensouled vampire, and one of the truest heroes in history. She also was mother to Connor, a here-to-fore being without precedent, who became a formidable demon slayer, and if Not Fade Away is any indication, an heir to Angel's heroic legacy. This is all in addition to being a deadly vampire and a key member of the order of Aurelius.

Is it really known that Angel was the first ensouled Vampire? Maybe there were others who weren't as strong of will who staked themselves when they came to the realization of all they had done.

Also, the Master and Angel didn't get along and it was never shown that Angel was even an active member of the Order of Aurelius.

I got the impression from his examples that Comma was discussing characters, rather than writers and producers.

Honestly, without trying to be trite, I have to go with Ms. Buffy Summers.

Granted there could have been other slayers that may have been able to do the great things she did, although I do not think any of them could have aligned the Scoobs like she did.

And even though she had the help of Xander, it is likely that no other slayer could have taken out the Master. Because don't you think many other slayers would have tried to take out the Master in all the time that he was on the earth because he was the most notorious of all vampires?

Then you have the fact that she was what inspired Angel to do good. As soon as he saw her, he wanted to help her in her fight against darkness. Without ever meeting her, he might still be eating rats in an alley and smelling bad.

Not to mention that if she had never slept with Angel and caused him to lose his soul, then Willow might have never delved into the black arts. This was the key event that inspired her interest.

Then you have the many other countless times she saved the world.

Without Willow or Darla, I think the world would still be in somewhat a somewhat decent state. Because Buffy could have continued the fight without Angel and in a world without Willow, who knows that Buffy wouldn't have died in the Gift. After all, Willow's lover Tara was the one who gave Glory the insight that the key was Dawn. Without that one incident, Buffy may have never needed to jump off the tower.

But imagine if Buffy wasn't activated by India's death, then most likely the slayer activated by India would not have came to Sunnydale. Not every slayer guarded the hellmouth. Hell, the Watcher's Council didn't even know about it until Buffy and Giles informed them of this.

Without Buffy, the events of "The Wish" would most probably be in effect.

But I'm not saying she does everything perfectly, because lets face it, many people died because she lived. If she would have remained in Heaven, then the First Evil wouldn't have killed off so many potentials and members of the Watcher's Council.

So I guess it is really just the way you see it.

I knew that really...just playing🙂. But seriously, I've gotta go along with you on this one. My vote is also for Willow for the reasons stated by my learned friend above...she's been a Big Bad and a Big Good...oh, and she gave Faith a lift back from LA to Sunnydale for the end of S7🙂 Plus, she had some of the best relationships...and don't forget Vamp Willow - sorry drifting OT and into perv territory😉

There are numerous characters that I could choose. Of course Buffy being one of them, but without the scoobies and Giles would she be what she was? My point being that everyone played a very important role however small.

Without Doyle, no visions and nothing to pass onto Cordy, not making her half demon and transending.

Without Lorne, no Pylea, no Groo, no Caritas and no one to help Angel gain an insight into peoples minds.

But I am going to agree with WatcherWes that without Darla we would have no Angel/Angelus, no Buffy and Angel, no Cordy and Angel, no Conner, no Spike and Angel. And also without the Master we would have no Darla as he sired her if I recall correctly. Which supports my above point that without one character things would just not be the same.

(Well, I guess The First Evil isn't a real answer since that's not really a person, but otherwise .. eh, never mind.)

It depends on if we're talking about the person who has changed the most with the things they did, or the person who everything would have been different if they weren't there. Cause I would go with Buffy if is was the later, if she wasn't there none of this would've happened, but then it would take me back to the first slayer and the guys who made her slayer, if they hadn't been there Buffy surtainly hadn't been in Sunnydale in the '90s, and Everything would have been different.
But if it's about what person changed the most with the things he/she did, my answer would be something else... Maybe Willow or Giles, or even Joyce (the way she raised Buffy and all)... Sorry I just can't answer these questions right...
