Faith's Watcher
Well, I've already gone into detail why Season Seven ranks where it does. No explanation needed there.😀
- Season 3 ranks first simply because Faith was/is so excellent, and Eliza's performance in that season is what turned me from someone who watches Buffy into a (mildly obsessed) fan. Season 3's storyline was the most well-written and the most compelling (aside from some elements of Seasons 2 and 6).
- Season 2 ranks second because of the Angelus arc. Particularly because of "Surprise," "Innocence," "Passion" and "Becoming, Pts. I & II".
- Season 6 ranks third only because of Seasons 2 and 3 being as good as they are. I loved the direction the series took in this season, and it was interesting seeing everyone in the main cast struggle with personal demons. The Dark Willow arc is probably my favorite of all the story arcs the show has come up with.
- I really have no reason for ranking Season 5 at fourth other than the fact that I thought Seasons 2, 3 and 6 were a bit better. There are several Season 5 episodes that I absolutely adore, such as "The Replacement," "Fool For Love," "The Body," and "The Gift."
- WHOOPS! Almost forgot Season 4! This season wasn't as fun as the ones that rank ahead of it, but that's only because the main storyline wasn't quite up to par. The Faith two-parter ranks among my all-time favorite episodes.
- Season 1 is sixth mainly because it was hampered by being a season of only twelve episodes and the fact that only a select few dealt with the Master. As a matter of fact, I watched my favorite Season 1 episode, "Angel", on DVD earlier this afternoon.
