For thoes of you who have finished that part of your life, whats the biggest regret you have from High School.

I only ask because i am currently in my senior year, and the reality of whats nest to come is starting to terrify me, and also, i've never once attended any school dance or been very much involved, aside from my few specific interests.

So far, my involvement includes being a co-founder and president of my high school's GSA (gay straight alliance) and working with the "Interact" club (community service club) at my school.

Do you think that later in life, i will look back and feel regretful?

I don't think you will look back and be regretful. Your involved in far more stuff that I am and I'm in the my last year as well. I've attended one dance and I was bored the entire time you probably aren't missing much there. Choir is the only thing that I'm involved in for school and that takes up a good amount of my time. (I'm sadly working on some of my music now as I type this lol) I think that if your happy or are enjoying yourself now then what is their to regret?

I'd say that the best thing to do is do the stuff that you want to do don't feel like you have to do something fun just because its your last year of high school. Go to prom I've heard from a lot of people that they regret not going to that. But other then that just enjoy yourself and try not to get Senioritis to early in the year. Skiping lots of classes is not good for you in the long run I found that out last year and am now redoing a class because of it.

I agree with Daydreamer. Dances...no biggie but definately go to prom. I went with my buddies at my old highschool and at the time my husband was dating my best friend. It was NOT a good memory later on...so the kid across the street is going to take hubby and I to his prom so we can have it the way it should have been...Sorry. I rambled. But really, I wouldn't regret anything because you are involved in so much more than most. If there is anyone you like or any project you feel you want to do then you should. Tell them how you feel or do that one thing you always wanted to but never did. (unless it involves weapons, explosives, or killikng scores of people...that's not so good I hear.)
Don't let yourself have the regrets. I found myself very regretful because I let my fears rule me so many times. Now I just wonder a lot. I think Nike said it best...JUST DO IT!

I haven't finished yet, only got I more yr then its off to tafe, but just think: what happens if you dont ake up tomorro? if you never got to go on that one rollercoaster you dreamed of? or never told your crush how much you loved him? or you never got to forgive your little sister for biting you? think it WILL be over, maybe in 5 days or maybe in 50 years but it'll end someday...deleive me I kno.

I don't think you've got anything to regret. I went to my school leavers do (which is like prom) but I didn't go to my college leaving do and that's the only thing I regret. So, like Rayne said, definately go to your prom!!

When I left Primary School to go to High School, I lost in touch with EVERYONE from that school, havent talked to them for over a year now so remember to call your freinds occasianly.

i didn't go to an american high school, so we have a different HS culture than you, so we don't have proms and stuff, we have parties at clubs like twice a year, i never went and never regreted it either, but i did atend the last big thing in school, that is a ritual that has been going on for years.. from the 1st of may till the 17th of may, we go around wearing jump suitssee pics in links:pic one pic two pic three

we are all wearing the same things, just different colors🙂
and we drive around in vans in the same color as we are wearing, and we party and so on, and after this we have exams.. so there are some that chose NOt to do this cos of tne exams, i had planed to do this(not doing the ritual thing) but i eneded up doing it(and met the love of my life, guy in blue suit in pic three🙂)

i have a question though, are you happy with the way you spent your HS time? cos if you are then that's what matters, if you're happy that you never went to the dances(and since the prom is a big thing i would prob tell you that, it's a good idè to attend🙂)
it's very scary of course to start a new life(the life after HS) but it can be very rewarding as well(exept the paying bills partLOl but we do what we have to) you get new chances at doing things, and if your going of to collage or something like that.. well i see Hs as a middle step in life, it just gives you the chance to make new chances, and it's like a middle station, you just do what your told in the classes you have, in college that's where it's for real... that's where you start to do what you want to, and if you get into what you want to get in to, then there is nothing that can stop you from studing what you want🙂 and becomming what you want to be 🙂

okay i'm gonna stop talking 😀 BTW:the pics where just to ilustrait🙂 russ time in norway is hard to explain in les you live here🙂

i hope i came with something good 🙂 *Laughs*

Never have any regrets........
Just be yourself. Do the things that make your happy and that satisfy you. In the end that will leave you with the fondest memories.

yeah chasity is right!! being yourself will bring alot more than forcing yourself to do things you don't wanna(for exaple🙂 going to dances.. not that you have done that LOl 😉)

Kindred, live for knowones standards but your own, dont do somthing just because you think you might regret not it.

just because sociaty thinks you should do a thing dosent mean its always a good idea!

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate all the feedback.

It's not so much about what society says i "should" do, but i just want to make sure, that years from now, i won't regret not having, or having for that matter, done something......
