What did you think would happen at the end of OMWF after first watching it?
I'm a definite spuffy, and I wondered if they would actually have a relationship when I saw the spike and buffy kiss (although i had just turned 12) and I just watched the episode now, and although I know now what happened after, it looks as if the kiss only happened because Spike was at the right place at the right time. Know what I mean?

I always just figured that before the kiss progressed to the tearing off clothes stage, the Scoobies came filing out of the Bronze, still singing about going somewhere and Buffy and Spike jumped apart like two school kids caught making out in a broom closet. With the moment lost, everybody just sort of drifted off in their separate ways, with Buffy and Dawn heading back home and pike going off in search of a very cold shower.

I don't beleive that the build up between Spike and Buffy was unexpected and too sudden. Yes, I think most people were more shocked or suprised it happened.. Its like watching one of those things where it may happen but it probably won't.. From the end of S5 and on through that episode, Spike couldn't have been any more perfect of a person for Buffy and in her worst and most emotional times. So when the dramatic end happens.. its a shock, its a relief, its closure and an opening!

I thought it was a gag. I assumed that the spell made it happened. I could have cared less either way back then...but yeah, I was convinced that Buffy couldn't have been interested in Spike. Then at the end of Tabula Rasa I thought, "Oh. Well...okay then."

I don't really think what will happen next after an episode which I watched! It's more the way that I have to think about the watched episode! I was very surprised and thought not about any relationships in the next episode! I was just wondering how long it had taken to make this episode!

I was pretty excited about it. It was something I'd been waiting for since they became weird partners in Becoming Pt2.

I had no idea how the relationship was going to go, but I could already tell it wasn't going to be all sunshine and flowers. They were both living with extreme emotional strain and it's so hard to connect to another person when you're feeling that way.

So I figured it was going to be dark and interesting. And really, I think that's exactly what I got.

I missed it completely, because I was so appauled by all that bad singing. I only realised it happened when Spike started pushing the subject in later episode. And then I decided it must have been post effect of the suicidal dance spell.

I had a complete "No way!" moment, not because I don't like Spuffy, I was just shocked that it happened! There has always been a tension between the to, but I didn't think it would that way. I never thought it would really go anywhere from there, so it was intriguing when it did!

Well, I think that was the point, though. Buffy was ripped from heaven into our little world of muck. The shock sending her into depression, she is totally numb inside and just wants to feel anything. Spike was there. She would spend the rest of the season using him "to feel."

In the internal context of the episode, and of previous episodes, the ending with Spike makes absolute sense. Now whether or not one is a Spuffy fan is another matter. I had issues with the whole premise of Season 6, and Buffy boning a mass murdering demon just to get her kicks was one of them. But c'est la vie.

I was pretty happy it happened, being a Spuffy shipper from the get-go it made sense to me but I understand why people would think it was rushed or as a result of the spell but if you remember Something Blue, the reaction to the spell was much more intense. If it was a reaction to the spell surely it would have been more intense?
