Both "Angel: After The Fall" and "Buffy, Season 8" were begun as limited run comics, and one or the other might very well be, especially if Joss gets really busy with "Dollhouse" and any other project that he might have in the future. So, which would you prefer: let the story arc end when Joss no longer has the time or interest to continue his direct input and control, or have either or both series continue without him, assuming that the quality could be kept at or near its current level?

Hmmmm, toughie. Well, honestly, i think even if Joss left, the current writers could be trusted to come up with good enough stories.
look at the TV series. I definetly think the first 4 or 5, plus the 1st 2 Angels, were of a higher standard than the last 2 Buffys and last 3 Angels.
And it just so happens that the fist 5 series's was when Joss had alot more input and was keeping better quality control. But even so, the later seasons of the shows were still good, just not as good. So if Joss did leave the comic writing to the others, it wouldnt be AS good, but, it'd still be worth reading.

Well if the standard are pretty much the same I really don´t care if Joss is involved or not. I´d like him to be, but for me it´s not the decisive thing or anything.

It doesn't really matter to me. And personally, I'm the opposite of williamthebloody, my favorite seasons of Buffy were 6 and 7 (followed closely by 3), and seasons 2-5 of Angel were all amazing (with season 4 being utter perfection). But Joss still was involved with both shows, just not as much, correct?

But I'd rather him focus more on Dollhouse than the comics. Which are not nearly as easy to get into and completely enjoy as a tv show, movie, or novel, IMO.

I doubt I would buy the comics without Joss being involved. I'm not really a huge comic fan so the attraction to these new seasons was the very fact that he was directly involved with them. Although I would understand if he left them to do Dollhouse I would be disappointed to see them continue witout him.

Good question. I honestly don't know. I'm not really into comics. I just read these because they're canon. I haven't read Fray. I haven't read Omnibus. I'm really only reading the continuation of the TV show comics. I'm doing that because -- duh -- Joss is the boss. From that POV, then, it wouldn't really make sense for me to keep reading the comics once Joss leaves. That said, I am now invested in the comics, although that is far more true for the Buffy comics than for the Angel comics. I'd be loathe to give up the story while other folks here remained in the loop. From that POV, I think I'd probably have to stick with at least Buffy.

Basically, it's a coin toss for me.

I'm pretty sure I would still buy them.
At the very least, I think Brian Lynch has all the Angel characters down pat. I loved Asylum and Shadow Puppets was really good too.
I have no doubt he could do it....especially, if and when he can ever get out from under having to explain the end of Not Fade Away. He really had to start a mile or so back and stuck in a pile of sticky stuff.

As for the Buffy ones, I don't know. I have faith in them, but I'm starting to feel like we're juggling too many things and characters at the moment. Which I think is fine because of Joss. But, if he left and the writers continued to try to keep up this amount of STUFF going on, it could fall horribly into a pile of mush fast. Although, I'd still probably want to read. I'm not good on giving up on things even when they go into the toilet.
