After the Yoko Factor....

No, I think once buffy realized that spike was playing them it was easy to chalk it up to his manipulation. Deep down, they have such a strong love that bonds them I think the natural thing for them to do is to get along. We see examples of this rappid forgiveness of each other over and over again because I think cohesivenss is their natural state.

I think it would have been intersting to know what every character had done allone. Because you knew that they would come together again. So why don't made some character aimed episodes? But it was ok the way it was!
 
Certainly they made up, because they are best friends/comrades in arms/partners in crime/like siblings and parent , and whatever other description that you might care to use. Given the life style that they had adopted, liking and trusting the person who might have your back at a crucial moment is a simple matter of self preservation.

I do think, however, that this was the point in their mutual friendship when each of them began to see, for the first time since Buffy had come to Sunnydale, themselves more as individuals than they had done previously, and come to the realization that having their own separate lives in no way weakened their effectiveness as a team or the depth of their friendship.

I'm in no way defending what Spike tried to do, but it did serve that one useful purpose.
 
No. I think once they realized it was Spike instigating things, they were quick to realize it wasn't each other at whom they were mad, but themselves. They were angry with themselves for letting it get this bad, and because someone like Spike had the chance to make them turn against each other. I think the timeline is totally plausible.
 
Well the thing is... Even when Buffy told them Spike had got them fighting on purpose, you could still feel they had not completely made up. It's only when they were going down into The Initiative that they really made up. 😉 And no, it wasn't too fast by then. They had been close friends for years, ya know?

I love the next scene where the girls hugs Xander and he's like ''Giles! Giles! You gonna want to see this.'' 😛
 
No. I've had a fight or two, similar to the one they had in the Yoko factor, with my best friend, and we made up within a day. I've also had some pretty nasty ones with my mom and then a few hours later we talk about it and if we come to a mutual understanding, it's all good.

Plus, they figured out that Spike had played them and they did talk about the fact that his lies came from truth. If they had realized the scam that same night, while they were still in Giles' apartment...well that would have been ridiculous.
 
I was going to say exactly what Tome said. The scene on the sidewalk, even after they realize Spike manipulated them and they decide to "move on," is still awkward - you can see that they are feeling their way back to each other. I thought it was well done.

On a related note, and along the lines of coming to realize that they are individuals as well as a team, did anyone else think that Giles choosing to wear his earring that day was an expression of his individuality after suffering the rift with the gang? I'm not sure I said that clearly. He was basically making a statement: I am more than just the Watcher to this group and I'm going to wear my earring as a reminder that I have another identity, so I don't feel so bad about this rift. Does that make sense?
