After watching a movie, I need a female's perspective.

I have just finished watching this movie for the quadrillienth time, "The Last American Virgin". In the movie there are two teenage guys....a truly great, nice guy and the other, a macho jerk a$$(beep), both of whom are after the same girl. The girl ends up with the jerk, gets pregnant from him and summarily dumped after she tells him.

The nice guy now comes to her aid. He treats her like a queen. He stands by her, shelters her, takes great care of her....and even ponies up some hastily scraped-together money to help her with the abortion. After all of that....she goes right back to being with the jerk guy.

Now, I know that not all girls think this way, and I would like to know the point of view of the young ladies here on the BB.

Why would some girls forego being with the nice guy....the one who would love them and treat them like gold......to be with some (beep)wipe macho shyte who would treat them the exact opposite way? Maybe even abuse them? I have been trying to wrap my head around this for years and years, and it just eludes my comprehension.

Ladies....the floor is yours.

Well, I would never go back to the jerk! I would choose the nice guy, no question about it. Hopefully only girls in movies would go back to the guy that treated them like crap. I know some girls have a thing for bad boys, but that's just crazy. I would take a nice guy any day. 🙂

Good question OM - it's one that has bothered me for years, even though I've never seen this film. Why do ladies like a b*st*rd? Speaking as a nice bloke, I've never understood it.

Amen! I'm a self-proclaimed nice guy and I can't wrap my head around why girls always pick the bad boys.

It's not a all girls in question it's about a special type of girls. It's the ones that's got too many bad feelings in themself to wanting to admit that so instead they go out with a guy that's got even more emotional and commitment issues than they've got. First of all they can project their own emotions and feelings onto the guy. Second they get to try to change him and buy doing that they are trying to change themselves.

But perhaps that's just my crazy thoughts!?

Maybe she's in love? I mean there's gotta be some reason, I highly doubt she sat down, gave it a thought "“ hmm, nice guy, jerk guy, who should I pick "“ and just decided that well the jerk seems like a good choice!

Yeah honestly though, I don't get it, but things are always far more complicated than they seem. And people are never 100% nice or 100% jerk..

well lets take a current case in point...The TV Show..Lost...has just been shown here...and its upto about its 6th epi.....the Character Sawyer had been quite a jerk for the first few episodes...YET he is the womens(in real time land) favourite
Women like a bad boy...

and men lets face it most of us prefer a bad girl...

Faith or Buffy....i know who gets my vote.....and its not Saint buffy of the Troubled spots
