"Aftermath" Finale?

I just got an e-mail from the good folks at TFAW that Issue #40 of "Angel: Aftermath" will soon be on its way to my mailbox. This IS supposed to be the final IDW issue, right? I'm asking because their 8 issue Spike miniseries still has 5 issues to go, which means that it probably won't close out until April or May of next year, which means that they still control at least some of Whedon's characters until then.
 
I'm not sure - I know the Spike run is still ongoing until it's completed, but not sure about the Angel continuation.

I haven't read anything post "Aftermath" - so, I don't know what was going on there.

First of all, read After the Fall...it's great. Second, the dragon = the awesome.

After that...I read the first story arc, but not much thereafter. Not sure if it's any good.

After The Fall is really good? I guess I'll check it out and see if I can read it on thenet, I just have a problem of reading things and not being able to stop and then they turn crap. :P
So now that Angel is heading back to Dark Horse, does this mean that this "official canon" season, is being thrown out, or is Dak Horse going to kind of go with the events of the Angel Aftermath series?

It's still canon. But i'm not sure of Darkhorse is going to keep all of it
