Grimm cocreator David Greenwalt has recruited his former Angel charge Alexis Denisof to join the NBC thriller's Season 3 cast for an arc, TVLine has confirmed.

Denisof will play Viktor Albert Wilhelm George Beckendorf (say that three times fast), the cunning first cousin to James Frain's Renard.

Additionally, Graceland"˜s Manny Montana is set to guest star in the role of David Florez, an ex-marine hothead returning from Afghanistan with PTSD.

Grimm"˜s third season launches Oct. 25.

I dont watch Grimm, it's always seemed like a poor mans Supernatural, and I've never really seen people talk about it.

Anyone watch it, is it any good?

I've watched the first few eps and I really enjoyed it. Tonally, it is very similar to Angel, you can really see Greenwalt in the scripts and production.

I like it, and I agree, it is somewhat similar to Angel, but the characters seem to be more like what I would imagine normal people would act like if tossed into a situation like that. And I particularly like the way that they portray the werewolf there, as someone pretty much in control of his change and his actions after changing. That also goes for "Teen Wolf," which has no similarity whatsoever to the Michael J Fox movie of the same name.

I was really iffy about Grimm when I saw its pilot episode premier, but months later I went back and got caught up on the show and it really grew on me. I actually really like the show now and cant wait for the new season to start. Also, no disrespect to the original Teen Wolf which was a classic but I think the tv show, although corny at times and not always show casing the best acting, is actually quite good.

Initially I liked Grimm well enough, but it wasn't something I LOVED. When they put Supernatural opposite it, of course I chose Supernatural, so I only got to watch Grimm in reruns when Supernatural was also playing reruns. But the last season was really good and I enjoyed it a lot, so I do think it's improving and having Alexis on it can only make it better 🙂

Hmm, maybe I will need to start watching Grimm now, haha!

I watched the pilot, but wasn't sold. Didn't HATE it, but I had so many other shows I wanted to watch. Might give it another go now that Denisof is joining for a bit.

Sweet! I don't watch "Grimm" but I've heard great things about it... Hopefully this will be a great thing in Alexis' career.

As someone who wasn't that thrilled with the pilot, either, it does get better.

Read about this on my Google news page yesterday!

My husband and I both watch Grimm, so we are excited about this news.

As for people who may be iffy about the show, I understand. The series became much better in season 2, probably because they had a larger budget. It's not ground breaking television by any means, but I definitely think it's worth watching.

I'm a big Grimm watcher, and strangely enough I don't really like Supernatural.

I am so excited about this! Although I was kind of hoping that he'd join our good guys. Oh well I'll take him anyway I can!

I have been watching Grimm from the start. It's ok, Monroe is easily the best character (but he was aces in Prison Break!!!), but it's not anywhere near Buffy or Angel. Alexis Denisof, for me, is a reason - the reason, actually - for tuning in to season 3.

I think he is a genuinely talented actor. His English accent is impeccable. In fact, I find his accent as WWP far more convincing than his actual accent!! The fact that the character of Wesley could transform from pompous nincompoop in season 3 of Buffy, into the sexy, strong, passionate Wes that developed throughout Angel is testament to Denisof's ability as an actor. I will definitely be tuning in this season to Grimm - even though I wasn't going to bother at the end of season 2....

I have been binge watching Grimm the last few weeks. I just bought seasons 1 and 2, midway through 1 now. I like it. It's very relatable to the darker tones of ANGEL. I remember watching the first two or three episodes when it originally aired, but decided to drop it because it wasn't wholly interesting me and figured, it being in a Friday position, it would eventually see the graveyard. Realizing the show is in season 3, i decided to watch it starting from the beginning. It's getting really good. I like it. And I'll definitely be excited to see good ole Wes when I reach season 3!! 😀

A little bit of both. Definitely some season-long arcs.

I have so far not been incredibly impressed with Alexis' character. Of course, if he's Wesen we haven't seen him change yet so we shall see as things progress.

I absolutely LOVE Grimm and watch every Friday. Recommended to all Buffy/Angel fans!

Grimm has improved dramatically since the awkward early episodes. I wasn't crazy about the Juliet storyline last season, but the show has really found its groove now.
