All the Moments, Big or Small, That Make You Love Angel

Since this appears to be what all the cool kids are doing, I thought I'd start a thread for my guy 😉

- In hero mode and him jumping into the wrong car in City Of.

- "You, woman. Me, Man...pire".

- How vain he is. "Did it always stand up like this?".

- The way he looks at Buffy in Lover's Walk when she tells him she won't see him anymore.

- "They talk about me in the chatty rooms?".

- The last minute of Not Fade Away.

- The smug look on his face when Buffy tells him to come out into the hall to talk in The Yoko Factor.

I love that Yoko Factor moment too.

"I'm a funny guy" - awesome! I love that whole scene, how earnest he is when he tells Buffy to just ask him if she wants to know something.

When he goes after that second telepathic demon to get his heart. That whole sequence as he gets up and runs and then into Buffy's room to feed it to her.

And um, Kean you're gonna hound me for this, but any scene where he's reading...HA!

Another one I love is in Bad Girls, when they are fighting Balthazar and he walks in saying "His name is Angel". BAM! Love it.

- "It's Buffy". Arguably my all time favourite Angel moment.

- When he takes that gang out for dinner to celebrate Cordy getting an acting gig and he his apprehensively watching the price of what everyone gets and then wistfully says, "I-I remember when a few bob got you a good meal, a bottle and a tavern wench..." LOL

-Angel dancing at Cordy's party.

-Angel fighting for Darlas life in The Trial.

-Anytime Angel was holding baby Connor.

-When Willow showed up in LA to tell Angel about Buffys death and Angel knew just by looking at Willow's face. Actually, I really liked all the Willow/Angel interaction.


Oh I could go on and on. I love the guy....faults and all 🙂

There was one moment when I KNEW without question, that this guy could carry his own show. I didn't know about 'Angel' at the time, I was just comfortably enjoying S3, loving on Faith, and then we get to 'Bad Girls' and...y'all know the scene I'm talking about:

Balthazar: "The man who has my amulet! What is his name?!

Angel: "His name is Angel."

THAT right there was the moment I knew Angel was one of the best characters on either show.

I'm a huge fan of Angelus, but I never really got the Angel love. Whenever Kean's gushing over Angel, and I'm like 'I just don't get it!' I ALWAYS picture that moment in my head and it's like 'Alright, maybe I get it a little.'

Apart from that, on his own show, one of my favorite Angel moments is just after Connor's born, and Angel's in overprotective-Daddy mode, and Cordelia is trying to tell him that he needs to let other people look after Connor, 'cause he won't always be able to. The scene where Angel sticks his hand into the sun and swears that if Connor needs to get to a hospital at noon on the sunniest day of the year, he'll get there, even if Angel doesn't. That's a very powerful moment for me.

Oh and one more...

In City Of that look on his face as he turns his head and in one fluid movement stands up and walks out of the bar just before the double staking.

Anytime he walks in the other direction how he turns his head first and the rest of his body follows.

When he knows he's hurt someone and the pain is in his eyes.

When he is vulnerable and when he is feeling awkward.

Every time he says Buffy's name and just the way he says it. So full of love.

These are just a few when there are so many.

- I love it when he sits and broods in the dark. Wilfully.

- I love his happiness at being in the sunshine in Pylea

- Love the way he wears sweaters (c'mon... he does it so well!)

- I love, love, love how socially awkward he is in "City of..."

How do I love the? Let me count the ways...

There was.. no, that was Giles.

Well, how about... no, that was Xander.

What about the time that he... No, that was Riley.

But mostly when... No, that was Spike.

What was the question again?

Now, in all seriousness...

I'm sorry, Miss K, but the words "love" and "Angel" just have a really hard time fitting into the same sentence for me. I DO like the guy, however, just as long as he has the good sense to stay away from Spike's girl. I like that he TRIES to be a better man each day, and I even more like that, when he screws up, which isn't that uncommon an occurrence, he gets right back up on that same horse and tries to keep going. I like that even if apocalypse averting isn't really his job, he still tries to make things better on a smaller scale, one helpless client at a time. I like that he took the time and believed in Faith when no one else really did. I like his really cool black convertible.

- in the episode Loyalty, Angel has gotten all of these miniature hockey stuff for Connor and he holds up a little jersey that says 'Connor' on it and he goes "how cute is this?" 😀
