This is not meant to sound mean or anything, I'm as much in love with James Marsters as everyone else, but Spike completely took over Buffy when he became a regular, and now it appears he'll be doing the same for Angel. Why don't they just do a damn Spike spin-off already? It's clear they love him more than the other characters, after all, HE saved the day on the series finale of Buffy. In fact all Buffy did was fight a little bit.

What's wrong with TV Shows? They never manage to stay as potent as they started out. Just look at Charmed, ugh! lol! Anyway, I think Spike joining Angel is a bad idea, but I'm still gonna check it out to see how they do it.

You guys need to have faith in Joss. He's brought us 7 Seasons of Buffy and 4 Seasons of Angel. You guys love the shows right? Good. Then have faith that Season 5 will be just as good, or better. He's a smart man...he knows what he's doing, bringing Spike on the team.
 
I really hate to say this, but I agree with Davin_N. (Not that I have anything against him) My faith in Joss diminished alot after what he did with buffy the last half of season 6 and all of season 7. Terrible! I've just been to afraid to say it.
 
I don't know how much of seasons 6 and 7 can be blamed on Joss Whedon. We know he took a much less active hand in both seasons, and left it more to Marti Noxin. The episodes he did write were good (Chosen for example)
 
I dont mind a lil bit of spike... just as long as everybody remembers whos the boss and the main man:

I was sceptical at first.

But I always like the interaction between Angel and Spike. There is so much conflict between them. I think it will be really interesting having him on Angel now.
 
^that is good point... because i love the whole spike and angel thing...

when they were both evil it was pretty funny to see, lets see now how it is when both are good ^ . ^
 
I'm excited about it. I don't think he will take over Angel at all. I think they have made it MORE than clear enough that they are going to be very careful about it. I can't wait to see them together more. In fact the only fear I do have is them ruining Spikes character development. That would be the dumbest thing they could do. I have faith in Joss and just pray that he has a lot to do with this season.
 
I also think he took over Buffy. Once he joined we got less of the CORE SCOOBIES, especially in S7.

I just hope the same doesnt happen with Angel S4.
 
Well, Spike's really popular and yes, he did tend to dominate much of S7. But I think he'll prove to be a positive addition to Angel, and a good foil for the man himself.

What I've been wondering is how David Boreanaz feels about it? I can't think of any other character which could possibly steal his thunder.......................

I don't believe that was due to Spike. The focus was spread out to everyone. There was so much different conflict going on. Spikes conflict was definitely something that took focus away...but again, he was a character too. I'm sure Joss felt it necessary to develop his character, especially if he was going to make him an intricate part in the finale...not to mention carrying him over to Angel. I mean, he had to make some people CARE about him, ya know.
 
I thought there was too much of Spike feeling sorry for himself in S7. We've had that on 'Angel' and I hope there's not WAY too much broodiness this season. BTW, Angel should stay broody. It's scary when he's perky.
 
I agree. Spike completely took over the last two seasons of Buffy. I've never been too fond of Spike, and am a little disappointed they brought him to Angel. The only reason people are taking it so well is because he looks good. I just think they should've left him dead and brought Lilah in as Cordy's replacement. *shrug*

And to add to my little rant - why the hell is Spike the main focus (Well, other than Angel) in the Season 5 promo poster? Jeez, ratings ploys bug the hell out of me. 🙄
 
I like that spike is joining the show, besides that hes hot, i think it'll make it more interesting, being as they're old eniemies...
