If Boyd/Rossum was, as he claimed to be, everything behind Echo and how she progressed from being just another doll to being the super-person-machine she became, and, if that started with Alpha dumping all the personalities into her brain, then did Boyd have something to do with Alpha? And if he did, do you think that the whole Whiskey/Claire thing started wayyy back, or once he started his relationshop with Claire?

OH MY LORD. Every time I re-watch this there are more and more unanswered questions.

I don't think Boyd had all that much to do with Echo becoming the type of doll that she did. Granted, he maintained her development and made sure she reached her full potential but it was her genetic/biological make up that made her capable of withstanding being wiped. So in order for them to get hold of that DNA in order to create a vaccine for themselves Rossum wanted her to be part of the Dollhouse. So Boyd's role was more about monitoring and tailoring her development but the essence of that development was always a part of her.

I'd be surprised if Boyd had something to do with Alpha. I think what happened to him was purely down to his composite event. He had to teach himself how to deal with his personalities, it was not a natural thing like it was for Echo. By Epitaph Two Alpha hates Rossum and everything about it but I think that's more to do with what happened to him and how they ruined his life as opposed to interfering with him like they did with Echo.

As for Whiskey/Saunders? Who knows, lol. My theory tends to be that she became part of the 'plan' after she was attacked.

That's my theory anyway. I'll be rewatching come September so I may change my mind but that's what I remember piecing together after the first time.

Boyd was there to protect Echo, at first I guess he did from the Main Offices. Remember that he only became her handler some time after Alpha attacked everyone but her. That probably drove him to keeping a closer eye on her. It was Echo's DNA that allowed her to hold the imprints, but Boyd protected her and allowed Echo to grow into a person. Alpha was a total accident and was never meant to happen. As for Whiskey/Saunders, I think he seduced her and imprinted her while she was missing/staying at his place. Given the way she changed, it was probably a sleeper imprint.

Lol I know! So many questions!

But anyway about the Boyd/Alpha thing: I don't think he had anything to do with Alpha. However - since Caroline/Echo is all special and all having that awesome spinal fluid - shouldn't Alpha have something similar? Shouldn't he too be coveted by Boyd for that reason? Cause if he can handle a composite event then something then something ought to be special about him too? Physically speaking.

I never understood that. Maybe because Alpha wasn't showing signs of having "multiple personalities" before they all got brain-dumped in him, and then as soon as they were all brain-dumped he just went schitzo he kinda missed the opportunities.
