If you believe that, maybe a reiteration of your original thesis is called for, and an explanation of how the comments don't fit. Your original position probably got lost in all the pointless wildass generalizations.
If you know the ABCs you can understand my "thesis" as you call it as is.

I, personally, dont think that Tara would have sat back and waited for Willow to get bored with Kennedy
If she was all that you said in the first paragraph she would. Unless she just likes being a bitch for no reason.

Also this triangle is not about leaving someone to be with someone else but more, how Willow would have dealt with two people she really cared about.
If she is anything like people claim she is, then she would only have one reaction and that is to stay with Kennedy until Kennedy doesn't do it for her.

Well apparently buffy animated is coming out in 2006, with willow and tara.
Oh joy. Another show with Dawn The Useless.

On the topic of should a slayer have rights to human life, I think most definitely not.
Until someone can prove that Slayers are not human they have the same rights as every human. They are just superior to all other humans.

taallam said:
I expected a slayer to be stronger.
Slayers are stronger physically but emotionally they are the same as any other girl.

Especially her with all that attitude!
How do you know that the attitude wasn't just a mask?

Please refrain from insulting peoples' intelligence. The other people of this board are just as smart as yourself (maybe even more) 😉. I don't like the tone of your post.

Feel free to carry on with the topic at hand in a nice and friendly manner.

Really, there is no way we can know how Willow would react if Tara was brought back. Just look at what happened when Oz came back in New Moon Rising. She didn't know how to handle that situation.. And Oz hadn't even been dead or anything, she knew there was a chance he would come back... And with Tara coming back from the dead, it would be... really difficult, for Willow, in every way.. God, can't even imagine having to make that choice..

Yeah it would definitely be something you don't really think about everyday. It's like "Hmmm...if my old lover comes back from the dead, would I stay with my current love?" That just doesn't happen, even in the Buffyverse it's not all that common.

Exactly... I think it would be a different situation for Willow or anyone to face... But the reason I think she'd be more drawn to Tara is the same reason she went evil in the first place... I know it's really not a reason to condone what she did, but it definately showed that she was deeply in love with Tara... Her dark powers were directly routed to her emotions... And thats a HUGE emotion to go through... Losing the love of your life... I'm not going to deny that Willow had feelings for Kennedy, because I think Kennedy did a lot in helping Willow to move on... But if Tara did ever come back... I don't think her choice would have been as hard as her choice between Oz and Tara...

Yeah but you bring up an interesting point, Tara coming back would mean that Willow would have tried to end the world for basically nothing. Tara could be a constant reminder to Willow of what she'd done and she might never have moved past it.

That is a very interresting point... Which is more than likely going to bring up another argument... In one way you are right... She might never move on if she had constant reminder... BUT... She had learned to seperate her powers from her emotions... Tara coming back could be a way of showing that... She had gone through a lot in regards to her powers... Firstly getting addicted, and losing Tara and almost killing Dawn... But she overcame that... (If anyone remembers how Sam (Rile's wife) said she never saw anyone come back when they saw what their powers could become), and then being tested by Anya when they were all trapped in the house... And then losing Tara indefinately and completely giving into her dark powers... I think it would be interresting to see what other effects having Tara back would enduce besides love...

This is something that I have thought about a lot. The two times Willow turned to really black magic was in response to something happening to Tara (when Glory mind-sucked her in 'Tough Love' and when she died in 'Seeing Red' and 'Villians').

We think so much alike, this is getting scary. :erm2:

you're telling me
I can't get over how much love there was when Tara came back to Willow... It makes me think that the same thing, if not better would happen if she was brought back by Buffy's wish..

To deal with the comment about her doing everything she did for nothing... I don't necessarily think it was for nothing... I think that if she never went through all of that, she never would have been brought to England, and she never would have learned to channel her powers... So all-in-all, I think it really helped her grow... And I don't think it would stir things up if Tara did return... But that's just me 😀

Well, I think that Willow did it all for nothing anyway, it's not like a lot of good things came out of it. But I see what you're saying.. Tara could be a reminder. But I kinda think she would be if she didn't come back either, it's not like Willow doesn't think of her a lot. Every time she thinks of her, she must start thinking about all the things that happened, and what she did.

Wouldn't you say that Willow turned to black magic when she went to Rack..? Or do you think that was different..? But that had a lot to do with Tara as well.

I think she really just got a taste of the dark magicks from Rack...

But along those lines, she went dark before that even, when Glory attacked Tara, Willow went after her with dark magicks... Nothing really advanced, but it only takes a little to get addicted...

Yeah, phoenixrising mentioned that one.. I was just thinking that she sorta became that dark Willow for a while there, after seeing Rack. When she was with Dawn and all that... Not the same though, I know.

Willow, Tara, Xander, & Anya may not have killed all those people themselves, but they are directly responsible for every death Potentials, Watchers, the Council, and any innocent by stander who got in the way. If it wasn't for them no Potential, Watcher, the Council, or any innocent by stander who got in the way would have died they would be alive. They are 95% responsible for every death, where as The First and its agents are only 5% responsible because they actually did it.

Anya being killed by an agent of The First is called poetic justice.

By that logic then that means they are responsible for every life that was saved from series 6 onwards, and they are responsible for all the lifes that are going to be saved in the future by the hundreds and hundreds, maybe even thousands of new scythe activated slayers so when you look at it that way it sort of balances out well more than balances afterall the events of series 6/7 have lead to possibly great things, some would argue that it may have lead to the removal of all demons from this dimension (if the slayer in fray is buffy/faith/scythe activated slayer.)

Oh yeah and if they where all being punished then how can you say that willow wasn't punished, tara dying was like two birds with one stone, tara got punished with death and willow was punished by losing tara and by knowing that she killed a human being, no matter how much the b****** deserved it and that she has to live with the guilt of that for the rest of her life- I'd call that punishment.

Guilt is not punishment, or every criminal who has ever felt guilty would not have recieved jail time. Faith felt guilty yet she still went to jail. Morning the loss of a fellow murderer is not punishment. Punishment would be a direct punishment placed upon that person not through others.

Yea but by what you are saying, every single criminal should face the same punishment.. Death!

What they did, by ressurecting Buffy, DID have very bad consequences, but that doesn't mean they should die for them. That's just stupid logic. They got their "punishment" as you put it. People they loved died, some of them died... That's more than the punishment they deserved.

You're a smart one aren't ya?

Death is reserved for those who by their actions kill people whether by accident or on purpose and those who by their actions lead to the death of someone by another's hands.

Ahh..there's a thread on the Death Penalty which I believe may still be active if you'd like to discuss punishment 😀

You know my entire feelings on punishment, as for non-death deserving crimes it is fine the way the law is written.

You're saying that even if your actions kill people by accident, it's you're responsibility and you should be killed. But that means, that if you give birth to someone who grows up and becomes a killer, that is sort of your responsibility as well. Or, if you piss someone of and they kill you, that is suicide..? (Bad example, I know.) I mean, all your actions have consequences.. Just by talking to a person you can change their view on something, making them kill someone years later. How can you be responsible for everything and everyone you ever have any kind of influence on..?

Cordelia
good points.
Your whole death punishment theory is really vague, and would never hold up in any court.

What about the criminally insane? Someone who does not possess the mental capabilities to have wittingly commited a murder. Should they just be killed?
