Vicariously
living in a fantasy world
I want to see San Francisco I hear it is beautiful. I also want to see scotland and I've always wanted to visit the Costa Rican rain forest. Jamaica would be nice as well. 🙂
I've always wanted to go to Ireland and still never been i'm so close.
My grandfather's family is from Sligo so I would like to check that out and given my half Irish half Scottish roots I do love the Guiness so a tour of the factory has to be done!
I want to do LA and Las Vegas so hopefully will get round to it. I've done New York and Florida and in 3 month's i'm Bermuda bound.
I lived in London so got that out of my system and glad to be back in Scotland. As much as I love abroad I want to spend time exploring my own country.
Sligo is a lovely part of the country, especially come June and the for the BEST pint in the world you have to head to Dublin to the home of th Black Stuff, oh and while you're in their you could head to Croke Park, thats where we hammered ye today!
See thats plain mean! Funnily enough the Scotland/Ireland games are the only ones where I don't care about the outcome. I love being in Edinburgh for the Six Nations when all the supporters are over its a great laugh.
Black stuff is a must, my dad has told me all about the differences between the stuff we get and 'the real stuff' and i'm game. In my student days I was on aroun 10-12 a night....not recommended though!
To be honest I find it hard to drink Guinness at all, its so heavy! but exceptions are for special occasion. And your granda is right the Guinnes thats exported aint the real stuff we get here. It never tastes the same.
It is really heavy, thats why I stopped, whats the point in trying to work out when I was sinking so many pints! I still have a few on a big night as it puts a coat on your stomach so you don't get drunk as quick....it works for me anyway!
I've heard that Dublin in particular is quite expensive since the switch to the Euro, any truth in that?

Yeah thats definitely true. Eating out and drinking can really be expensive up in the Pale. Some parts of the city are worse than others but all the touristy spots are gona cost ya a pretty penny. BEG would be the best person to ask . He is from our nations capital, I'm up and down alot but I wouldn't know it anywhere near as well as he would.
I'd only break out the guinnes for special occasions too, Paddy's Day being the next one, it really does line the stomach though and helps offset drunkenness...for a while anyway.😉
