During today's TCAs for Fox's Studio Day, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER actress Alyson Hannigan commented on the recent news that BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER was going to be made into a feature film sans Joss Whedon.

Needless to say, she isn't too happy about it.

"A BUFFY [THE VAMPIRE SLAYER] movie without Joss, I would crap on that," Hannigan told the press. "Joss was Buffy."

I guess that puts the kibosh on any guest appearance from Willow.

Not that Willow can make an appearance anyway, but I think this is probably the harshest comment on the subject to date, am I right? Almost everyone else has spoken about their hatred of the idea, but this is the harshest I think I've seen.

Yay for that. Someone should make a wallie about BtVS cast opinions about the reboot. 😀 Whose do we have now, Charisma's, Nick's, Aly's, Anthony's, Emma's, Jenny Mollen's, Alexa Davalos', Marti's and of course, Joss'.

I should point out that the exact question she was asked was, "Would you like to take this opportunity to crap on the idea of a Buffy movie?"

So the harshness wasn't entirely her idea.
 
Good for Aly...wow, that's along list of former Buffy/Angel actors who hates the idea as much as we do!

As much as SOME of you do. I'm still on the fence and hoping for the best.
Ah, I love Aly. I'm trying to remain mildly optimistic about the movie, but I think it's good that she was honest about her opinion, plus I found it pretty amusing.

I think Sarah is a little bit more professional then Aly so I doubt Sarah will say anything about it. No offence to Aly though - I love her to pieces for being honest!

Hmm, well she has a tendency to make things sound better then they really do.. so I'm really interested. I think she'll be asked about it, if she wasn't already.. but I doubt it since we don't see her too much in the public lately.

Ya never know, maybe since she's coming back to TV someone will ask her in an interview. But even so, I think SMG would probably keep a neutral tone about the whole thing.

But back on topic, that was hilarious. I love Aly even more now.
 
Frankly, I'm disgusted by Alyson Hannigan's words. Like many fans, she has proven herself to be just as narrow-minded as them, in regard to this movie. She won't give it a chance. And I'm disgusted.

The sad thing is that the writer of the movie is a long time fan of the series. And she simply wanted to put her own spin the story.
