Be it far from me fueling the rumors and the controversies, but IMDB.com has an article where Alyson is expressing her disappointment in SMG over the way she announced her leaving BtVS. This is what Alyson has supposedly said regarding Sarah's attitude during the final days of the show:

Gellar Slammed by 'Buffy' Co-Star

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has been slammed by her former Buffy The Vampire Slayer co-star Alyson Hannigan - for failing to tell cast members she was quitting the show. Gellar announced in February the show would come to an end just weeks later, so she could concentrate on her marriage to Hollywood hunk Freddie Prinze Jr. But Hannigan is still angry she had to find out the news from the press. She says of the announcement, "It wasn't that big of a surprise, but finding out from a magazine article - that sucked. I'm really upset that that's the way the cast and crew found out they would be unemployed." And American Pie star Hannigan has yet to receive an apology from Gellar, adding, "She hasn't said anything."

So what do you think? Is Alyson right in criticizing Sarah or should you wait until Sarah gives her version of events before deciding?

yeah, i think the star of the show should let the cast in on things like quitting.

but wasnt that written when they knew the show was ending anyway? smg might have just assumed everyone was leaving and it was common knowledge.

I think alot of these recent articles concerning SMG are all fake, they are just tryin to cause problems for her, makin it all up!!!

I think it is Joss' responsibility to inform the cast of these developments. Think of your work, I'm sure its your boss that makes these announcements not the employee!

I think this subject is getting very old now. They all just sound like people really putting down SMG......and for what reason??? ?! I don't know SMG but I don't think anyone is deserving of this.

I have heard this from numerous sites and sources and I believe that its true. I agree that Joss should have said something, but SMG does work with these people every day, and has for 7 years.

I also agree that this subject is old. This happened back in Feb. and people are still talking about it. Maybe Sarah wasnt allowed to say anything....who knows at this point.

I think SMG just assumed that everyone knew that the show was going to finish with season 7. Just because she is the star doesnt mean its her responsibility to personally go to each cast member and make sure they know.

It seems to me that for some reason or another people are just trying to slam SMG or at the very least trying to make controversy out of nothing.

spike soulboi

having done the whole vampire with a soul thang I think the shows writers should have made spike mortal at the end of season 6. After all he asked to be like how he was before, and to give buffy what she deserves, doesnt buffy deserve a real man. spike sacrificing his strength and immortality for buffy. Proving his love for her. Of course it would not be plain sailing. He would no longer be able to help buffy like he once did, now weaker than her. And what job would he get, what is william qualified for any way? I would then have drusilla coming back at the end of the season, biting spike and giving him an ultimatium....to be turned back and live forever as a vamp or die as a man. Spike chooses to die as a man, rather than going back into the darkness, he chooses his love for buffy over his life and dies in her arms, life ebbing from him, buffy, tears in eyes finally admits that she loves him and thanx him for everything he did for her. Fade to black.

also.....anyone else thinkianya shud turn out to be pregnant......world needs a baby xander!!!!

i dont look at it as Bashing Sarah I look at it as just abit mad and dissapointment but just reading a Joss interview and its not completly Sarahs fault, JOss said that this would be Buffys last season even if Sarah signed on for another, so either way ppl wouldve been out of jobs but hey Joss is moving some of them over to Angel

I do thing Sarah was in the wrong for not telling her friends and co-stars first, but afterall, we can't be 100% sure that this is true, sooo.... *shrugs*.

I think that SArah should have told Alyson, I mean they've been working together for SEVEN years and she can't take a second to tell her co-stars and friends that she's quitting. Thats just seems really insensitive and mean to me...just my opinion
Thanks
