The arena, formally known as Key Arena, will play host to their newest NHL team. However, Amazon, who secured the naming rights for the area has decided to rename it... Climate Pledge Arena. Okay the name really sucks. But this is kinda cool:

"Climate Pledge Arena will be the world’s first net zero carbon-certified arena, and the venue will be powered with 100 percent renewable energy and generate zero waste from operations and events. In addition, it will use reclaimed rainwater to create the ice surface for hockey games."

They renamed it because Amazon made a pledge to fight climate change. ::eyeroll:: Hope their arm doesn't break from patting themselves on the back.

Everyone is trying so hard to prove how progressive they are to everybody else. I'm progressive politically too, but I'm not a "try hard". But anyway, this stadium sounds cool and I am in support of it. And I approve of the grand gesture (but I also do an eyeroll too).

That name won't last, but the stadium itself sounds great as long as they keep up with it. What about the merchandise? Is that all produced with zero emissions as well?
