Amber and Adam Busch (Warren) in new political ads

"55 per cent said they would read a daily newspaper aimed at young people." that is actually an interesting idea! Hmmm.

And I´m always saying here in my country it´s terrible but... here people don´t vote cause of weirdo people like Amy Winehouse....

The site just say "girls" what do they mean with it? Any female, or just under-age girls?

Cause it´s hard for me to belive that 30 yrs-old "girls" would vote on their fav celeb indication.

I think they specifically cite the demographic as 13 or 14 to 17, which is the age of most Girl Guides, who were their research group. They don't say they would vote if Amy Winehouse was on an ad, just that these celebrities are seen by girls to be more influential for them than polititians,(just to clarify 🙂 )

Thank yoou!! Cause I don´t know these "Girl Guides" at all...!
But then... what´s the problem with that? I mean, I hate polititians and I don´t hear then at all.. I think Amy Winehouse and some of them is almost the same... And besides, they are girls, they can be as shallow as they want, for now.
I just think that people should read more books... cause polititians are baaaaad.

But, anyway, totally off-topic xD

Ok so I have now seen the adverts, and, maybe its a cultural thing, but I just don't get how a parody on presumably crack or heroin addiction and AIDS, cleverly scripted as they may be, is seen as an appropriate way to campaign the electorate. It's an EXACT example of how the glitz and gloss by fancy media marketing lovvies and their 'clever' scriptwriters takes away from the real political issues and makes it a campaign about style and lifestyle, and it doesn't actually tell you what the hope is about, i.e the practical application of policies and an agenda for real change.

I'm a bit bemused.

I can´t say about the audio cause here I don´t have it, so... I don´t know what they´re talking about.
And propably it´s cultural thing... for me it´s hard to understand cause here in Brazil is ilegal to use celebs image to do campaign, they can´t even talk about their personal opinions on talk shows or magazines... So I don´t really know who it works in people´s mind.

What comes to mine is "Oh great! Amber is cool, she has the same candidate as me" or "oh... Poor Amber... she´s being used by it... She doesn´t know what she´s doing". But I´d never change my vote cause of this.

And about talking about ANYTHING besides the real problems.... I think they do research about the people before campaign.. so, maybe this is the kind of marketing they´re asking for, the emotional one, not the "real problems" one.
