Amber in Supernatural

This sounds as Amber says, "juicy".

Fans of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL and FIREFLY creator Joss Whedon know Amber Benson as Tara, Willow's girlfriend, from BUFFY. Since her character's dramatic departure from the series, Benson has been a busy young lady. During her time on the show, she wrote, produced and directed CHANCE -- an independent film about relationships in L.A. Now, Benson is the co-creator and writer of the book series GHOST OF ALBION with Stoker Award winning author Christopher Golden, based on the continuing adventures of characters from their BBC Web episodes. Benson also has two interesting projects being released this year, her second feature film LOVERS, LIARS, AND LUNATICS and a guest appearance on the CW network's SUPERNATURAL, which is now heading into its second season. iF caught Benson fresh off of the Vancouver SUPERNATURAL set and talked to her about what we can expect from her on the series, and what else is up next.

iF MAGAZINE: Are you just a one-time role on SUPERNATURAL or is this a character that may come back?

AMBER BENSON: As of now, it's just a one-time role. It's a very juicy guest spot.

iF: How has it been returning to a TV show primarily about the occult?

BENSON: Its cool to be back in the sci-fi realm. Everyone at SUPERNATURAL is lovely. I've had a real blast working in Vancouver. Thought I was through with CGI, but visual effects seem to follow me wherever I go!

iF: What can you tell me about your character?

BENSON: Can't divulge anything about the role I played, but I got to be tough and sexy, so it was total fun. Plus, I got to wear some bitchin' cowboy boots.

iF: What's up next for you?

BENSON: "Witchery"- the next GHOSTS OF ALBION book comes out in October and LOVERS, LIARS, AND LUNATICS is available online at www.loversliarsandlunatics.com.

I liked the Bloody Mary episode, and the one with Amy Acker in it about the ghost in the lake. There were others though...uh...not so much.

Julie Benz has done an ep as well, right? Any other Buffy/Angel alumn?

No! The bloody Mary one is the one I can never watch again! I have fear of eyes, mirrors and spiders. so that was a really bad episode!

Here's a spoiler from Ausiello at TV Guide.

Question: My old Smurf t-shirt doesn't fit me anymore. I'll send it to you in exchange for some Supernatural prattle! "” Jaclyn

Ausiello: You got a deal! I just found out that Buffy's Amber Benson will guest star in the episode "Bloodlust." She plays "” get this "” a vampire(!) who kidnaps Sam, but then delivers some very surprising news that causes the Winchesters to rethink their stand on the supernatural

Ok that sounded, err, ok idk.. I have a problem with supernatural things in general, I am honestly not a fan of sci-fi stuff (with a few exceptions obviously).. Buut I'll have to watch this of course.

Blair, Benson Guest On Supernatural

Original Exorcist star Linda Blair and former Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast member Amber Benson will appear in episodes of The CW's Supernatural in the show's upcoming second season, TVGuide.com's Ask Ausiello column reported.

Blair will show up during November sweeps to bust stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who play demon-hunting brothers, for, among other things, performing exorcisms, the site reported. Series creator Eric Kripke told Ausiello: "For two seasons, the guys have been pulling cons and crimes, and they've always just slipped out of the grasp of police. Well, the police finally catch up with them in a big way, and Linda plays the detective who is put on their case."

Benson, who played Tara in the latter seasons of Buffy when it was on UPN, will play a vampire, a "nod to her days on Buffy," Kripke said. "She plays the leader of a nest of vampires that the boys come across. We're sort of twisting the vampire story into a new and surprising direction."

Other guest stars this season include Alona Tal (Meg on Veronica Mars), who will play a love interest for Ackles. "She's coming in as a character named Jo," Kripke said. "The boys come across a roadhouse that their father never told them about. It's kind of a rest stop for hunters, and a woman named Ellen owns it. Jo is her daughter. She's wired into the world of hunters, and she's strong and smart and interacts with the boys, and there are sparks between her and Dean. We take it really slow. The roadhouse and her character appear every four or five episodes. We're certainly not interested in rushing into anything. But the idea is to build a relationship over the course of the season and do it naturally and organically, rather than the guys hooking up with a different girl in every port."

As for Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey's Anatomy), who played the boys' father, he will appear in a couple of episodes, Ausiello reported. Supernatural returns Sept. 28 and will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

This season I've noticed a lot of guest stars on shows - more than I remember happening in the past.

Thats awesome news to hear, I love Supernatural. Its pratically my favorite show these days. I hope to see more Whedon verse alumni guest stars. I loved both Amy and Julie on Supernatural last season and can't wait for this season.🙂

Big Supernatural fan here. It took a few episodes to hook me but by the middle of season one I was really enjoying it, which was also the case for Farscape and that went on to be my second favourite show ever!

There does seem to be a wealth of guest stars heading for guest spots this year but there was a hell of a lot in the first season too. Some in very minor roles. William B. Davis and Jim Byrnes both appeared in roles that you could miss if you blinked.

By my estimation this episode (Bloodlust) is airing this week.

I read some spoilers for this one I wish I hadn't, but one thing worth calling attention to I think, because it's another reason to watch is they may introduce another recurring character. I don't think that's a spoiler. That's more a need to know thing, like Amber will be on it.

I think it will definately be interesting to see Amber play a 'tough and sexy' kind of character. At the minute I can't picture it, she was too convincing as Tara 🙂
