Amends: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Very nice.

Emotional Buffy and It's a Wonderful Life. Two things that always get me. I'm planning on watching "Amends" on Christmas Eve this year. I haven't seen it in a while so I'm looking forward to it. It's one of my favorites.
 
I love Amends. It's one of my favourite episodes of the whole season.

No-one ever seems to talk about it as being particularly great though, which seems strange to me as I consider it to be a season highlight.
 
I think Amends is one of the best episodes in my opinion, there's something almost Shakespearian about it (the existentialist subtext is also entertaining for me) and everyone loves a Christmas miracle 🙂

A beautiful, if somewhat sad, song, sung by a beautiful, if somewhat tragic, lady. One of my favorite songs, and one of my favorite (yes, Miss K, I do have a few) Bangel scenes.

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is a timeless, elegant classic.

"I Will Always Love You" is 100% cheddar!

Aww, this was cute. As cheesy as the episode can be in certain spots, I always loved "Amends." Never let it be said that Joss doesn't indulge in romantic fluff every once and a while (though he still gives it to us with a heaping pile of Angelus flashback trauma, so he isn't being TOO sappy 😀)

And man, looking at this, DB and (especially) SMG look right at home in the 1940's style of film. Too bad we never got to see them paired up in a one-off period piece episode. Say they got thrown backward in time due to Willow's wacky hijinks or whatever.
