Amends

When it starts snowing it gets.me.every.time.....away from the tv and into the bathroom to throw up. Seriously? Snow? Never has there been a lamer, cheesier ending to a Buffy episode.

I have to disagree with you... I love this episode and esspecially the ending its just so romantic...
Amends is one of my fav Buffy episodes...
Its great to see how Angel is weak in that episode and how he changes later on his own show....

Oh my, no, please don't!!!

Snow stops Angel from killing himself? Yeah, so romantic. Oh, because its a miracle? Gotcha, sparky.

What does that have to do with the episode itself? Him changing on his own show has nothing to do with this episode.

I watched this on Sky the other day too, and two things struck me about it.

1) What the hell was Buffy's train wreck of a hairdo about?

2) If Angel hasn't had human blood since the curse, why was there a Wall Street Stockbroker type saying he had arranged his family 'with such care'?

Anyhoo, I did stop, sit and watch to get me in the Christmassy spirt, and enjoyed every darn tootin' minute of it. SMG's acting at the end, when she is on the floor crying, is just fab. I'm sure many of us have felt like that (particularly as teenagers - you grow a pair once you hit 30 or so and just get on with it!) so it always strikes a chord. Plus lots of topless, breathless Angel shots and that bit of pseudo soft porn. Can't beat that (or you could, if only you could get close enough and get that blonde tart outta the damned way!! 😉 )

Don't mistake me. I liked Amends, mostly. I just thought it didn't say much for Angel's feelings toward Buffy that she couldn't convince him not to kill himself. He needed some cheesy miracle snow.

It made the episode seem deeper. Angel wanted to kill himself, but it was like another force was thinking otherwise, and thats where the snow came from and saved him! Cheesy, but it could be! They wanted Angel to live!!

It topped off the episode and gave it this nice romantic feel to it.

I watched the episode last night, because It was Christmas and the special christmas on tv sucks.
And I love the episode it's one of my favourite, ok it's not as great as OMWF, The Body, but it's still great.
I don't think the episode was about the relationship between Buffy and Angel, but about feeling alone in that day, and finally celebrating it with the ones you love.
But the most important part is the snow, and not because it lead us to a very beautiful and romantic scene but because it meant that Angel was here for a reason and for a good one.
He was going to kill himself, thinking that he was doomed, that he would become Angelus again, and it started snowing to show him that he had a destiny on earth, they gave him reason to go on, a real reason. Because he can't stay just for Buffy because their love is cursed.

And by the way, why this rivalry between Bangel and Spuff? Am I the only one who likes both?
I'm Bangel but I love Spuffy, and the 6 is one of my fav seasons.

It could also be the horrible bangs that Buffy is sporting in the ep....
Hahahaha. I thought I was the only one that noticed.
2) If Angel hasn't had human blood since the curse, why was there a Wall Street Stockbroker type saying he had arranged his family 'with such care'?
Actually, I don't believe that's true. Where exactly did they say that? Because, if so, remember "Orpheus" and "Salvage"? Angel definitely drank some human blood in the seventies. Heh. But you're right - the way the stockbroker guy was putting it sounded more like Angelus and not Angel. Hrm. Never caught that until now.

As for the actual episode, blah I don't know. It was better than most episodes, but I wouldn't consider it one of the best (this is coming from a Bangel supporter). So hrm. I don't know. I really haven't come up with an opinion on the snow...whether it was cheesy or romantic.

What I want to know is why The First is able to touch Angel, and why the Bringers can suddenly chant (they have no tongues) and have different markings on their eyes.

This episode is a Bangel lovers dream.

It's so great and I love everything about it really. The scene near the ending gets me everytime and I think it's beautifully done. I mean, the whole thing with Angel getting ready to die and Buffy starting to pretty much cry and trying to stop Angel. Then she punches him, he punches her and she falls to the ground and she starts crying.

The whole fight between them tears me up and then when the snow starts falling...that's amazing!

if i wasn't a huge fan before. this made me an ULTRA fan of the show. its not just the writing, its mostly how they acted in the ep. sarah is just amazing in it and david made such a huge impact on all the scenes. one of my favorites for sure! 😀
