American Idol 6 - Who's Watching?

I dunno, but I'm just not feelin' anybody from this current crop of contestants, unlike last year when Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks just leaped out at ya from the auditions and became the ones you wanted to follow.

You could not be more right there.

This year's male contestants are bringing a whole new level of bland to the term bland. It would make a lot more sense to just cut the guys straight away and call the girls the final twelve because there isn't a male singer in the lot of them that deserves a chance in the idol spotlight.

Chris Daughtry and Bo Bice have more talent and star quality in their little fingers than these twelve guys do in their entire bodies combined. So much sucking going on.

Top three girls for me, in no particular order, Gina, Leslie and Alaina.

Well I haven't watched American Idol since the first ever series but I've been watching it recently due to nothing being on TV on a weekend!!!

I have to say I've cringed a lot at some of the contestants singing, if that's the best in America then I feel sorry for the country, considering they've brought us some fantastic artists in the past! I have a feeling that some of the better singers out there haven't made it into this competition.

Anyway, I have to say that I haven't got as hooked as I did first time round. Also MY GOD what happened to Simon Cowell? When did he turn so nice??? Where's the mean nasty Simon we all love to hate? I think he needs to quit American Idol and come back to Pop Idol here and show his true colours again because the man on American Idol is a wuss and personally I don't like him that way! Simon grow some balls!

Oh I'm from UK by the way so I'm not sure if we're seeing repeats from 2 weeks ago or from this week. The episode I saw on Sunday was The girls who had got into the final 24.

Yeah, the top 10 boys this year aren't that special. I look at it like... they turned me away, and I'm as talented as they are, but i'm fun! i'd be wild'n on that stage. it's ok though, MAYBE i'll be back next year. it's a big maybe though. i'll see where this year takes me.

This year's Idol winner shall be: Lakisha Jones. Bet it. Count it. She's the one. Powerful, well-learned singing voice, that one.

On a different note....can somebody PLEASE slap the taste out of Ryan Seacrest's mouth already?

First of all I would like to apologise to the devil, or god, or perhaps to my soul. This is not the type of show that I would ever voluntarily watch. I only did so because I was with someone and she convinced me to watch an episode with her. This should not diminish the complete majesty that is me but after one episode I'm totally hooked. So much so that I found the episodes for this season on youtube and I'm working my way through them. I'd just like to echo what others have said, the guys are mediocre singers. To be honest I don't think the girls are that much better. I'm gonna 'champion' the girl that sung Brass in Pocket. She's clearly not the best singer but she's one hot looking girl.

Lakisha, yes! She is a front runner for me too. It seemed like she had no chance at all because we'd never seen her and then suddenly she busts out with that. A lot of people are comparing her performance of "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" to Jennifer Hudsons (who won an oscar last night). I think Jennifer's version is waaaaaay better.

Lakisha is definitely one of the better singers. Her voice isn't that unique though, she's just a very good singer. She will go far, perhaps win it, especially because Mr Cowell likes her, and his voice of approval will influence votes.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that Simon Cowell has a very peculiar walk? It is like he has a pole rammed up through his ass to the base of his neck, restricting upper body movement.

lol. No, I can't say I've noticed his walk. I have noticed Paula looking a little tossed every night since the top 24 started.

A lot of people are comparing her performance of "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" to Jennifer Hudsons (who won an oscar last night). I think Jennifer's version is waaaaaay better.

Perhaps it is better, but even Jennifer Hudson could never live up to that song.
The original singer, Jennifer Holliday, is the only woman on this earth who can do that song any true justice.

Which one is the "Brass In Pocket" gal? I don't remember her.

And don't even mention Paula. She truly has to be stoned out of her mind for her to consistently tell uber-suck "singers" that they sound great and will go far. At least Simon and Randy keep it real.

I actually think Jhud's version is better than Jholidays. Does that make me weird? I'll admit theJennifer Holiday's is amazing, but I think Jhud brought so much more to it. I think she's a way better vocalist.

I remember last year during the top 20 vote off, it was between Kevin and Sway. Ryan asked Paula something like what would you say to these contestants. And paula, who was really really drunk, replied "like simon once said, the month has to find the lemon...or corn flake... haha corn flakes... to the moth." and i remember watching at home and i was wondering what the people on stage were thinking.

I dunno what Sanjaymaker or whatever his name is was trying to do last night. Was really weird to me. My favorite guy is definitely Blake.

Damn... lemme do some research so i can find out who brass pocket girl is... Yeah found it. Her name is Alaina Alexander
