Anyone watching the new season of American Idol?

Am I the only one isn't that impressed with the newest installment? Everyone we've seen have been just ok in my opinion. I haven't been blown away by anyone yet. I'm hoping that Boston (tonight's episode) will produce someone that changes my opinion. I do have some favorites though, but again I don't think they're above average.

My Favorites
Paris Bennet (Ann Nesby's granddaughter)
Katherine (her mom is her vocal coach, sang "God Bless The Child")
Kelly Kickler (sang "Since You've Been Gone")
Jo (the lead singer of Full Blown Rose who did the theme for Tru Calling)
Jayne (the woman who sang when Simon walked out)

The top 24 have already been chosen. I can PM it to anyone who's interested.

What do you think about the Brittnum Twins and Jose "Sway" being disqualified?
 
I just turned it on now haha...I've kinda been catching the episodes that I can. I think there's been like two people that were pretty outstanding compared to the rest. But given the people I've seen...thet may not necessarily mean a lot.

THe Brittnum twins were the ones who were disqualified because of legal trouble right?

well if by legal trouble you mean fraud, forgery, and indecent exposure... then yes lol
I've been watching this on ITV2 here in the UK. I have to admit that only two or three of the ones who got the ticket to Hollywood have really stood out to me so far but it's early days and so far we have only seen the first four audition episodes over here. I'm enjoying it as ever though.
 
Ayla and Becky have been predicted winners since almost September. They just showed both their auditions. Was I the only one that was unimpressed?
 
Wait...were those just shown tonight? Because I know they showed a few audition tapes, but i was kinda not paying attention the whole time...
 
yeah Becky was the twin and Ayla was the one that plays basketball.
 
My favourites are Paris and Katherine. I think her name is Katherine...Her mum is the vocal coach, and she got praised so much that she began to cry in her first audition. She seemed very down-to-earth and I liked her a lot when hearing her voice. I actually think she is the girl second from left next to Paris in your banner.

Yeah I really like Paris and Kathrine too.
 
I definitely see Paris and Katherine in the final ten at least...I've never seen Jayne and I can't really remember Mandesa - I'm undecided about Gina although I did like her voice and style.

Right now, I'd say the women rule the competition as far as talent is concerned. But I have a feeling that Ace and that other guy with the goatee are going to go pretty far (I predict final 6) based on sheer likability. I love Mandesa and Paris! They'll probably be getting most of my votes, fo' sho'. 😉
 
For sure, women are tons more talented this year. I agree about Ace and Chris. Chris I think will go very very far with talent, however, Ace doesn't have the best voice and will get by on his looks alone.
 
I'm watching it right now. It's the girls night. They're pretty good.

I like this Kelly Pickler girl, with the grandfather. She's a sweety. She can even sing a bit.
 
Yeah, but like I told killerdwarf and other people, don't believe everything you see. She lied about her whole back story. She HAS sung and won singing competitions, and her mother is still in her life. It's all for sympathy.

Wait... how are you watching girls night? It doesn't air till tomorrow?

Honestly. I'm watching it right now.

It was just that little girl from Georgia. with the grandmother Randy knows. She was great.

I didn't watch much AI last season. I thought the talent was disappointing. These girls though, they could wipe the floor with last year's contestant's.

Oh wait...I take it back. Another girl was singing as I was typing. She sucked. Simon just mentioned her name - Stevie. He thought she sucked too.

Randy knows Paris Bennett's grandmother, Ann Nesby. She is a really good artist. She sings hip hop/gospel. I recommend her to anyone and I don't even believe in God. My favorite song of hers is "Make Me Better."

Yeah, Brennah... She's just there for drama I think.

How did Paris, Kathrine, and Mandesa do?

Hey, don't go dissin the girls from last year. LOL. Carrie Underwood is awesome, as is Vonzell, and I'm tight (as in i know her and her mother) with Mikalah. So.. watch it, buddy. lol

My friend made the top 75 this year! I was so surprised to see him. I knew he was auditioning, but you have to sign a contract so you can't talk about what happens until the show airs. I was so surprised to see him!

I totally forgot today was Tuesday... Damn...

I REALLY don't like Becky's voice, but everyone else seems too.
