Okay, so the fifth season of American Idol is due to start on the 17th and I was wondering if anyone else was looking forward to it. I'm also adding a poll to see which season/winner was your favorite.

I love anything even remotely musically themed so i always watch these kind of shows. I prefer X Factor but i'm a big fan of American Idol too.

Of the four seasons i'd have to decide on my favourite based on what i thought of the winner so i easily went with season one as i really love Kelly Clarkson. Her new cd is very good indeed. Carrie Underwood would be my second choice although i still think Bo Bice deserved to win that year. The less said about the other two winners the better! 😀

Well I've watched seasons three and four however I voted for season one becase it gave us Kelly Clarkson. I love all her music and her album 'Breakaway' is incredible - greatest album I've ever bought! She's extremely underated in the UK....

I wanted to go see her live in Manchester but I won't be able to make it 🙁 I'm so angry about that.

Well, my favorite winner would have to be Kelly Clarkson because really, she's the only one who's been able to REALLY make it in the business. The others haven't really gotton there yet, in my opinion. BUT if I had to compare seasons, I think season 3 had the best talent out of all of them. I absolutely LOVED Latoya London, and I think she should've at least been final two. I didn't really care for Fantasia, but whatever. What's done is done. *shrug*

I'm so excited for this season! I was supposed to audition, but my dad decided he didn't want to take me 3 days before I was supposed to go. Oh well. I'm auditioning for season 6 though!

Well, I've only seen American Idol 1 as it was the only one that was aired in the UK! I really like it and I thought that Simon Cowell was great! I like how he was horrible to Paula quite a bit.

It just made me laugh because we are sooo used to him been horrible to people here in the UK, that the people singing just take the piss out of him.

I remember Kelly appeared on Pop Idol 2 in the UK and she really emphasised with her singing how bad our top 12 were compared to the US.

I can't wait for the new season, always fun to watch😀

Anyway, I myself put Kelly Clarkson. This is a little wierd concidering I didn't start watching the show until season 2 (and didn't see her on the show), I think that she has been the most sucessful, since she's managed to get more than one record out and on the charts (her 2nd one was the first "Idol" record I finally got this winter and love it🙂) and just seems to be a lot more recognized than the others as an artist (instead of just the "American Idol" you know?)

I also liked Carrie, but I haven't heard enough of her released stuff to put her above Clarkson.

Did they? I didn't see them. Yeah I remember seeing Kelly on that. She was really good compared to our finalist. I mean apart from Will Young who else is still singing!!!

Yeah, American Idol 3 and 4 have been shown here. They aired on ITV2 though so you might not have realised they were on.

Yeah that's probably it. I don't really keep up with ITV2. I don't like that Channel! Don't know why.

Hmmm, because it usually shows nothing of any great interest perhaps? 😀

Hehe, seriously, the digital ITV channels do seem to be improving. In fact ITV2 is going to be airing Supernatural sometime soon, which i'm actually looking forward to checking out.

Now if they will just stop showing so much damn Coronation Street, or better yet, if they just stopped making that rubbish altogether! 🙂
