As the new seasons begin this month, tell us what you think of the premieres of the shows you watch. I'll be posting my thoughts on 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Smallville, and Supernatural this week. And Veronica Mars next week, which sounds like a promising season btw.

Doctor Who season 2 starts up this week.
Grey's Anatomy just started up.
How I Met Your Mother started last week.
Lost premiering soon.
Supernatural... No idea.

All I can think of at the moment.

I'm going to star-rate the ones I've seen so far.

Premieres

1. Ghost Whisperer ****
2. Grey's Anatomy ***1/2
3. Boston Legal ***1/2
4. Gilmore Girls ***
5. Bones **1/2
6. Prison Break **

New Shows

1. Eureka ***1/2
2. Men in Trees ***
3. Jericho **1/2
4. Brothers and Sisters **1/2
5. Shark **1/2
6. Runaway **
7. Standoff *

The new FOX shows are...lame, I think. Standoff is a strange hybrid show. "Tense" drama and romance, supposedly. Justice is annoying with the hyperactive handheld camera, the tabloidy subject matter. Cheesy. Vanished...I didn't have the patience to get involved in that giant conspiracy story cos the characters seemed really bland and forgettable.

Ghost Whisperer is getting a lot better, improving on last year. There's definitely some sense of an arc developing, an internal mythology. It's still kind of corny, old-fashioned. Even Jay Mohr seemed a little stiff in his new role. But it's fun.

Jericho I want to be great, but it's too early to tell what it is exactly. The pilot was kind of dull. Heroes...derivative of half a dozen other sci-fi sources, somewhat generic direction and dialogue. Hope it morphs into something interesting, fun.

Kidnapped"”good cast, good acting. Tension already well established between the characters. It'll probably get yanked cos too many people will stick with CSI or whatever...

Studio 60"”just don't know. Smartly written, well acted, but kind of a weird fantasy universe Sorkin has created, it seems to me. Ep 2 seemed sort of preachy, earnest. Hard to believe this is a true look behind the scenes at a broadcast TV show. But Sorkin's characters are usually very...human. Good dialogue.

Shark was entertaining just to see James Woods chew up the scenery.

Smith seems potentially great. Feels like a quality, low-key 80s crime movie. Ray Liotta, Virginia Madsen, Amy Smart, Shoreh Aghdashloo...good cast.

Six Degrees. JJ Abrams is a producer I guess. Reminds me a little of Crash, Grand Canyon, The Secret Lives of Dentists. Random characters bumping into eachother, sometimes indirectly affecting eachother's lives. Something about fate, or chance, or...I don't know...

Just watched Smith, not too shabby much better than that drivel called Heros.

New tomorrow Smallville and Supernatural....yey! And next week Veronica Mars *bounce* i've so been missing that.

What about Heroes? New show with Ali Larter and Leonard Roberts. I just watched the first episode and Im definately looking forward to more 🙂

I've only seen Veronica Mars and I loved it. But im bound to be biased.

Ya think 😉 I watched it on MSN and its off to a good start, as usual loving Logan and Dick at the end.

I didn't like it, it was slow and annoying. When I read about it I thought ooh sounds good but it didn't live up to that for me. Too much other good shows out there for me to watch so i'll just forget about this one.

I thought it was great.

Also just watched One Tree Hill, Supernatural and My Name Is Earl. 🙂

7th HEaven...well, let's just say it's 7th Heaven. It started out with a lot of questions. What happened at the end of season 10 with Simon and Sandy? Where is Simon? What about Mary and Carlos? And some were answered. Most were not. It's a start. Let's hope it gets better.

Gilmore Girls...considering i thought it was gonna bomb, it did well. Kinda draggin the Luke/Lorelai/Chris thing throughout the eppy...but that was all summed up with "I slept with Chris" and Luke immediantly leaving after that. It remained cleverly witty and the "raquet ball scene" was just pure fun. Can't wait to see more.

Smallville. Great start to a new season. I have to go into detail on this and right now im low on time, so ill wait til later...

Supernatural...well, i kinda forgot about it halfway through the episode...okay...not halfway...about 15 minutes into the episode...

One Tree Hill...have to come back to post my detailed opinions on this...lol

And Al..."HeY!"

Veronica Mars was awesome! One tree Hill was excellent, really well done, Supernatural was good but not great. Grey's Anatomy was also brilliant!!

I didn't know the first episode would be on MSN, I only found out when Faith mentioned it in this thread. Cool idea, I was worried I'd have to make an MSN account, and go through a lot of rigmarole. Nope, no waiting or hassle. I loved it. Especially Dick, I just felt so sorry for him at the end. Terrific acting on (insert actors name) part. The thing with Kendall was amazing too. Great opening episode, here's hoping it continues in the same vein, or even gets better.

If you have not seen the new comedy The Class you are missing one hell of a funny show.
Very smart concept and even smarter writing. If you got a chance give it a look you will not be disappointed.

A guy is about to get married so as a thoughtful gesture for his fiance he arranges a party with all the kids in the Grade 3 class they were both in because he wanted to celebrate the first day he met her.
Welll ofcourse at the party she dumps him but issues between the other students (who are now in their mid twenties) surface. One girl wants revenge on her prom date because he decided that on prom night he was gay. She's a weathergirl who has married a guy who acts, dresses gay, a great cook and called his daughter Oprah because he's a big fan. But they are sucking up to him because he is a Grade 1 teacher at a prestigious school they want their kid to go to.
Guy still living at home with his mother has a one night stand with his ol' high school sweetheart (who to him was the best thing he ever had in his life) except she's married to an older man who was an ex-NFL superstar now selling BBQ's. Oh and he realised he helped build the house they live in and it is shoddy so the football hubby hires him to fix the house even though the wife/ex-girlfriend doesn't want him to take the job.
The class neurotic who is always trying to kill himself meets an equally neurotic girl and they like each other but after coffee he accidentally backs into her with his car and breaks 52 bones in her feet and she's in a wheelchair for 6 months and he promises to help her. Oh and the neurotic girl has a twin sister who is brutally (and I mean brutal) honest and begins to be friends with the guy who was dumped at the party. She is the funniest.
The one-liners are great and the chemistry between the characters is as if the show has been on the air for years.
Honestly check it out you will get a solid laugh.

Anyone catch 'Dexter' last Sunday?

It sounded interesting and wondered if anyone else had watched it and what they thought of it?

I just noticed that Julie Benz is also in the cast too. 🙂
