Amy Acker has signed up for a role in USA's new pilot Common Law.

The show stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as two homicide detectives who are sent to couples counselling to resolve their differences.

TV Line reports that Acker has landed the only female regular role in the project, playing the duo's therapist.

Acker previously starred in Dollhouse and has also appeared in shows including The Good Wife, Happy Town and No Ordinary Family. AND OBVIOUSLY ANGEL!!!

Common Law is being written and executive produced by National Treasure scribes Cormac and Marianne Wibberley.

Angel star(Amy Acker) in new buddy cop dramedy

Gorgeous Whedon-vet Amy Acker ("Angel", "Dollhouse") has joined the cast of the new USA network buddy cop dramedy "Common Law", according to Deadline.

The show, which stars Michael Ealy ("Sleeper Cell") and Warren Kole ("24″), centers on "polar opposite LAPD homicide detectives Wes Mitchell (Kole) and Travis Marks (Ealy) whose constant bickering prompts their captain to send them to couples counseling".

Acker, whose last TV gig was in the short-lived "Happy Town" for ABC, will play the therapist on the show. Film wise, she next appears in the Whedon produced "Cabin in the Woods".

OooOOooOoOOOo....

I'm excited! I wanna see me some more Amy Acker! 😀 Lets hope this show doesn't get nixed too. I wanna see her in a white lab coat again. *Dollhouse/AtS Flashback* she looked sexy in those 😉 I know it probably won't happen since she'll be playing a therapist but, a girl can dream can't she?!

Lovely.

Any chance we'll hear some Texan?
We need one to counter the Jasper Hale-Texan (in Twilight) influence that seems to be gripping the youth of South Island, NZ.

<rant>

Like: "I was the youngest major in the Texas Calvary, all without having seen any real battle... till I met a certain immortal... Maria." - as a pickup line! Given there are umpteen Marys/Marias in South Island, I'm starting to hear this all too often.
: smash :

<rantend>

In any case, great to see Amy back on the screen.
(And please, drop the glasses.)

I will watch the pilot and give it a shot. I like Amy so i hope this one is a keeper.

I hate seeing my Angel & Buffy actors join shows that don't interest me 🙁 LOL. But good luck to Amy, I love her!
