Ok so yesterday i watched Triangle and the S6 epps with Amy back and i was wondering what happen to Amy to make her do these things?and just a thought but could it be that spell Willow said she cast on Amy in Triangle?

What do you think?
 
Can you specify? Sorry, I'm not remembering what you're talking about (she cast a spell on Amy in "Triangle"?), and I'm too lazy to pull out my DVDs. Jog my memory, please?
 
Ok she's talking to Anya and Tara about making the sunshine ball or whatever and Willow says she cast a small spell on Amy and is saying she's been acting strange.
 
The dialogue in question:

Tara: Hellebore, one of my favorites.

Willow: It's powerful stuff. (She and Tara walk out from behind the counter) I tried to use it to de-rat Amy, and it didn't work. But I think it might have made her really smart. (They approach the table, where a variety of magical supplies are laid out. Willow puts the vial into a rack with some others.) She keeps giving me these looks like she's planning something. Rubbing her paws together.

To be honest, I think it's just Willow being Willow. Since she thinks it should have an effect, she sees an effect leading to absurd and adoreable dialogue. If anything, Amy seemed stupider when she was de-ratted...

I think Amy's behaviour stems from her jealousy of Willow. As she tells Kennedy in S7, she's jealous because Willow's magical ability came so natural to her, while she, Amy, had to work twice as hard to be half as good.
 
If you mean why was she ultra magic obsessed right after being deratted, well basically I think she was just on her way to abusing magic anyway at the time that she ratted herself during the whole "M.O.O" fiasco so when like 3 years later she's human again she was just kinda making up for lost time, got out of control and was able to drag an already vulnerable and impressionable Willow right down with her.
 
I personally think magic was all that she had really. She'd been a rat for three years and I'm sure that has to do something to a person's mental state. But when she was deratted she didn't really have a lot in her life at all and magic was something she had always known so she just really engrossed herself in that. I also suppose the jealousy thing is true as well as maybe in a way like the cheerleading thing she wishes to be as powerful a witch as her mother and is pissed that Willow can reach that level of power so easily.
 
Yeah, Amy was never one for the self-restraint. Any jealousy she had, any want she felt, she acted on. Spending a year watching your mother getting whatever she wanted through magic at other people's expense is either going to put you off it entirely, or send you down the same road.
 
If you haven't read Buffy Season 8 you should. Without giving anything away, Amy features in "The Long Way Home".

Amy's Descent

I'd say that Amy fully embraced dark magic after being de-ratted, but dabbled in it since right after "Witch". It's never clear when Amy first started going to see Rack--before or after being de-ratted? If before, when she was in high school, then yes, Amy had already begun her journey down the dark path. Although, I've viewed the love spell in "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered" as a youthful mistake more than anything else. Her anger and actions in "Gingerbread" went a bit further, and it didn't help that her last emotion (before becoming a rat) was hatred toward M.O.O. So, she eventually allowed magic to take over her life. However, I think Amy finally decided to be a villain once Willow decided that she no longer wanted to be friends with her. This rejection angered her to the point that she developed a vendetta against Willow. I also agree that she's angry at Willow because Willow became a powerful witch more quickly than she did. What I don't understand is why she
co-opted Warren's vendetta against Willow, and why she became his girlfriend in the first place. I thought Amy would have more self-esteem than that, but I guess I was wrong.
 
I don't think Willow's spell had anything to do with it.
I think the combination of A) Amy dabbling with dark(er) magicks pre-rat (chick was able to transform herself! That's some pretty serious stuff) and B) being a rat for years (sort of made her crazy) were the causes of Amy's evilness. Plus, having such an evil witchy mom probably didn't help...y'know, the belief that people with addictions give birth to children with addictions? Yeah.

I totally agree. I don't think Amy started out evil at all. But once she was de-ratted and saw how good Willow had gotten since she last saw her, I think it pissed her off.
And you know, maybe she did the things she did out of spite. Maybe she saw what a powerful witch Willow was and thought "She should have been able to turn me back way sooner" and got mad and started acting out with magic.
 
I just think she was screwed up from the begining. I mean, having a mother that treats you like that is going to mess you up in the head. And every episode after she was just abusing her powers more and more. I do just think she was picking up where she left off.
Also, I think the reason she was so mad at Willow was a mixture of jealousy and rejection.
 
Like what most people have said, how Amy has turned out is a build up of everything she has been through in the pass few years. I actually think it did start after she got her body back from her mum and began dabbling in magic. You could see how much she loved messing with people like when she did a spell on her teacher to make her think she had handed in her homework.

Then when you see Amy in season 3, the darker gothic look was a subtle hint to say Amy was dabbling more in the dark arts. Once she turns herself in to a rat and gets stuck for 3 years that has to mess with your mental state a lot. As soon as shes back and knows how long shes been a rat a part of that jealousy and annoyance surfaces as I bet she felt like Willow didn't even try despite how powerful she had become over the years. As soon as she was rejected that was it from Willow, she had had enough but by season 7 that jealousy is full rage for her to want to mess with Willow like that.

A part of me can't help but feel sorry for Amy but in a way it was coming right from the moment magic was in her whether it be from her mum's body switching spell or just dabbling afterwards. Plus Amy does make a good evil counter part to Willow, you can't not have an evil witch on Buffy thats got history with all of the Scooby Gang.
