Amy Winehouse Dead: Singer Found Dead At London Home

Yet another celebrity dies, this time way too young, I was never a fan but that don't change the fact that it's tragic when people die. And when it's celebrities it gets more attention than if it was someone not famous. Not nearly as tragic as what happened in Norway but still I think this be a "bigger" news worldwide.

Poor woman.
I don't think it's wise to compare the two events, they are on completely different scales.

I wasn't ever a fan of her but it's heartbreaking to see someone so clearly in need of help just throw her life away due to an addiction. She was taken way too young, hope this acts as a bit of a wake up call for others who find themselves facing similar addictions.

Do we know if it's related to her addictions? I think it is but it's pure guessing. I try not to take things for granted even if I can't stop my thoughts. Anyway I hope you're right about it being a wake up call.

About comparing the two events I might have been unclear or I missunderstod you but as I see your comment I don't disagree.

The death is being treated as unexplained at the moment, but given her lifestyle and history the general consensus seems to be that it was an overdose.

I wasn't talking about you with my other comment, just heard a lot of people on Twitter get all outraged because apparently there's only so much grief and shock to go around. Sorry, probably be who was unclear.

ok, so I missunderstood. Good.
I was never a big fan, although I loved her voice and her songs.

It's so sad she died so young. She made some bad decisions in her life, but this is not the moment to judge her. I'm glad she left something behind for people to remember her for, and may she rest in peace.

Can't say I didn't see it coming, and for a long time, with her lifestyle. It's still sad, though, she had a bunch of talent. RIP Amy.

It's a very sad time for her family and friends but it's clear she has been on self destruct for a long time which is also a shame at such a young age. For a life to end at 27 is awful may she rest in peace.

She was the same age as Kurt Cobain (and a bunch of other 27 year old rock stars). We all saw Kurt's death coming a mile away, yet I was so saddened when he killed himself.

Poor Amy was an addict. She had a horrific pain in heart that couldn't be assuaged, no matter how many drugs she put in her system. I always felt bad for her. I hope she is in a better place.

yeah Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison, I think...

weird.

and very very sad.

addiction is a disease and it kills.

(But washburne, you're right, I am assuming drugs were the cause of death, and you're right, we really don't know yet)

I'm sorry for everyone who knew her and is in pain now.

There aren't many folks who sit in the arena of modern music and allow me to think they have their finger on the pulse.

Ms Winehouse is one of the few. much as I feel that death is one of the most misunderstood features of modern life, i find myself wishing that Amy had found a place to sing from, one more time.

Bon Voyage.

R.I.P.
So young... and she had a great voice. She was pretty screwed up though, and yes I'm going to assume her death was caused by drugs as well. Still it is sad.

It is sad it seems celebrities go left and right for reasons like this if that was the reason with her. Sad she was talented I wish I could have said I was more shocked but this is just sad overall.

Completely agreed. I might borrow this statement the next time I get frustrated with someone for saying "but what about [insert completely unrelated tragedy here]??" Grr.

This was really sad news to start off the day (heard about it in the morning where I am) and I can only hope that she found peace. She had a lot to go through at only 27 years old. Hope that we can learn more about addiction through such a highly publicized tragedy like this one.
