Remember in Ep 3 'The Witch', Amy's mother ended up in cheer leading trophy, well, what happened to her after the school was wrecked (during the battle with the Mayor Monster). Was the trophy destroyed, stolen or just totally lost? This is just one of those weired things that cross my mind when watching the programme. Either way, her mother was just left captured in her strange world. We know that the trophy was there when Oz was around because he commented on the eyes moving, I wonder why???

I think it was probably most likely destroyed with the school, either that or it survived and got buried deep down in the hellmouth, but probably destroyed.

With the military digging around in the rubble of Sunnydale in Season 8, there's a chance that we may see that trophy show up again.

If we use real-life logic then the trophy was most likely made of plastic and completely melted when the school blew up. But where's the fun in that!? I'd love it if white avenger were right and we got to see the trophy (damaged or not) resurface in the comics... Perhaps damaged just enough to reveal the woman-witch still partially trapped inside?

I absolutely loved how season 1 used to end all X-Filesy with the parting shot of "uh-oh, not everything is resolved!" And on that note, anyone wonder what happened to the pulsating mantis eggs we see in the closet at the end of episode 4?

Now, that's an excellent question, and it could have the same answer as the cheerleader trophy. With the military clambering around what's left of Sunnydale, they could turn up just about anything. Even the First Evil, the Mayor, Adam...ANYTHING.
Just about anything that Buffy and the gang ever faced in Sunnydale could pop back up in Season 8, from the various Big Bads down to the lowliest demon. If the military were to locate and re-open the Seal, they could unleash the First Evil. They could resurrect Ben, bringing Glory back (Just imagine an "Angel" crossover with Glory and Illyria going head to head.) They could re-install Adam's power source. Unleash a surviving group of Turok Han. Locate and misuse Anya's locket. They could even reassemble the Buffybot (and soldiers being what soldiers are, the possibilities of that positively boggle the brain) They could even somehow revive Anya or Tara.

I do believe in the script for Doomed when they return to the school, in the description of the burnished wreck it was written that amongst the wreckage was a very specific cheerleading trophy. So I believe the legend of Amy's Mom lived on. With the eyes that follow you across the room 😉

With a theories like that, it would make any uber vampire, Master, Mayor etc look like 4 or 5 year olds on their first day at school - small and weak:whistle:

I like to believe that once the trophy was destroyed, her essence was also destroyed. I always did think it would have been totally kick-ass to bring her character back somehow. Like, what if Amy released her or something and they became the Big Bads at some point? 🙂

I liked it when Oz noticed the trophy, but I wouldn't care to see Amy's mom back. I doubt she'd be able to come out on top--she'd have been under rubble for nearly a decade, while Buffy and, more importantly, Willow have grown so much in their powers. She'd be screwed. I could see it maybe if they did an Amy spin-off, having Amy and her mom battle it out, but other than that I wouldn't care to see Amy's mom. And I wouldn't really care to see an Amy spin-off or one shot.

I think you can actually see the trophy in Season 5's Doomed, it's lying on the ground when their going through the destroyed school.

Really? I'll have to skip quite a few episode & seasons to check that out:: vampire, I'm on a repeat of the series at the moment to refresh my memory, nearly completed Season 1.

I think it's cool that Oz had brought the trophy up, leave it to Oz to notice lol
I personally don't care about her mom, but later on in the seasons after Amy turns into quite the little witch herself.

True! Amy's dad dumped her mother because ofthe witchcraft thing, wonder if he did the same to Amy? Infact did he even notice that she had disappeared after the attempted Sunnydale Witch-hunt and burning session?

Thats a good question, I remember Amy saying she wasn't ready to face her Dad.
Willow: "Oh because of where you've been?"
Amy: "No, how I got there"

I can't remember if Willow had asked her about her Dads reaction or not in a later episode...
