I just wanted to write a note of apology here - you'll notice I've added some advertising on the bottom of the page. I'm trying to raise the money for a new software license for the board, so I'm trying this out. If it doesn't work lol, I'll remove them. I know it's annoying and I'd rather not do it, but right not I can't afford it on my own. Thanks for your understanding!

No problem with me. I can't see any advertising at the moment, but I'm sure it will appear soon. I think you deserve some financial help keeping the board afloat and if it means a small amount of advertising then so be it! I keep meaning to donate money, but I never seem to be financially in the right place at the right time.
 
I honestly didn't even notice it. I don't think it will be a problem. I hope it does help earn money to improve the already amazing boards! I'm never one to complain about advertisements... the way I see it, this board is free... therefore if I need to put up with a few advertisements at the bottom of the page... what's the big deal?
 
I highly doubt anyone here will think there is any need at all for you to apologize for that, sure everyone gets it and is behind ya. I know I certainly don't mind, and honestly didn't even notice 🙂

I agree with the others. No need to apologize about it! These boards are freaking awesome, and if a few ads can help you keep it afloat then I'm all for it. 😀
 
When I first joined I was kind of surprised there weren't any ads lol And hey, whatever pays the bills right? lol
 
It's more than okay! I completely support you and what you're trying to achieve. And I feel like I should even say thank you!
 
I didnt notice until this thread; usually those buggers are up at the top and screaming at you, and distracting from the board. So right on.. if it works, it works. Even though I do like the sound of you apologizing!

You've been running the boards for many years now, i think everyone trusts your judgement, if you say its good for the boards then its good for the boards.

Why would there be a problem? We all understand that it's hella expensive to keep the board going... I'm just sorry I can't afford to donate to the cause.
 
Wow, I didn't even notice the ads down there either. Those are probably about the *least* obnoxious pop-ups I've seen in a while. And if it'll help the boards, I'm all for giving them a whirl 🙂
 
Oh... okay.. those are cool! I thought the code hadnt been filled out or something.. as the only google ads I have seen were specific items. Those down yonder are actually kinda useful. I 'google shop' alot at work and now I never have to leave the board to do it.
 
I've heard Google Adsense doesn't like forums much and doesn't pay them very well. So I hope it works out for you but if you find that the money is a pittance, you might go with a different ad supplier.

And of course it's no problem. You might also try putting them in a more visible location. Again no-one will mind but you might get a bit better revenue.
