EW is reporting that Kermit and Miss Piggy have officially broke up.
Kermit and Piggy arrived separately to join executive producers Bill Prady and Bob Kushell for a press conference on the network’s upcoming docu-style sitcom, which follows the troupe’s life behind the scenes of Piggy’s late-night talk show Up Late with Miss Piggy. Amid questions from critics about the show’s modern flair and celeb cameos (Imagine Dragons will appear!), most reporters latched onto Kermit’s somber announcement that he and Piggy had mutually decided to end their long, long, long relationship.
“Piggy and I have gone our separate ways romantically,” said the frog/entrepreneur, who will still executive produce Piggy’s new show despite the breakup. “It can be tough to work with your ex. It can be tough to be the executive producer on your ex’s late-night TV show, especially when your ex is a pig. I don’t know whether any of you have ever dated pigs.”
The couple appear to have moved on from their fraught relationship. Kermit has been getting pretty serious with Denise, a marketing exec at ABC, while Piggy was last known to be dating former That ’70s Show actor Topher Grace.
