An Hour To Load...

I've not been coming on the board as activly latley as you might of noticed. This is beause it takes an hour for the board to load. On both my computer and my other laptop. And it can take up to 15 minutes for a page to change. I try to log on everyday but it takes too long. Is there anyway I could speed up the process?

I'm presuming its only this forum. If not theres something wrong with your connection.

Make sure you are cacheing images and stuff, helps load pages faster. However not sure how you do that on internet explorer as I use Opera.

Check http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ and post your results, it may help other members help.
 
I'm not a comp expert or anythign, but when mine gets annoyingly slow, or I remember every month, I delete my history, cookies and temp files....you hafta sign into everything again...windows still has password if you chose to save it, but it seems to go faster so...Dunno if it'll help any but...g'luck with the comp problems.
 
If you're using internet explorer check to see how big your temporary internet files folder is - if it's set to be too big it'll slow things down. I had a similar problem recently and found it was set at 600mb+. I changed it to 5mb and things speeded up again. It's in the Tools menu under Internet Options > General > Temp Files > Settings btw

No probs. It may be worth trying another browser (such as Opera - suggested by Ashsan above - or Mozilla) as they can be faster than big old bloaty IE - although you may find you need IE to view some sites properly.
