Almost every character has made massive mistakes and had their shining moments of heroism. But were there any small incidents that had you thinking, "If someone I knew did that I'd be weirded out".

Examples:

NKABOTFD
Buffy is going to change her clothes. She has Xander go to the other side of the room and keep his back turned. Xander decides to use a little mirror on Buffy's desk to try to spy on her while she is undressed.

Crush
Dawn wants to hang out at Spike's crypt. After being unable to get her to leave he starts telling her about his evil deeds in a ghost story kind of way. Buffy shows up and he changes the ending so that it doesn't have murder and bloodshed and Dawn is disappointed. (there is a scene in Retreat that shows Dawn's love of gory true stories, she is REALLY eager to hear about Oz and Bay being attacked by fellow werewolves)

The Replacement
Buffy and Riley are kissing in Buffy's bedroom. Dawn stands in the doorway and makes gagging sounds and then tells a story about someone choking on their boyfriend's tongue. Buffy tries to get her to leave but she says she's allowed to be in the hallway. Buffy tells Joyce that Dawn is watching them like some kind of freak. Buffy shuts her door.

Angel/NKABOTFD/Into the Woods
The fact that Buffy doesn't have the guy whom she is not dating leave the room when she changes.

I can understand if that weirds girl out but in Xanders "defence", most guys would have done the same thing. Especially if it's a girl they're crushing on. Being proud of it? Maybe not but it doesn't change that it's typical behavior. Girls be warned. Get boys to leave the room or maybe house if you don't want to risk them sneaking a peak. 😉

shhh, don't admit it... don't crush the illusion of gentlemanlyness, even if it's naive to believe in it. ;D

He gets to feel like a piece of meat for spying eyes in S7 when he complains to Buffy that the SITs sneak into the bathroom to watch him shower. That is ten times more pervy than what Xander did in NKABOTFD. And a major double standard for that to be played for laughs. Can you imagine if a group of teenage guys snuck into the bathroom while Buffy or Dawn were showering?

I can imagine them trying... but with two Slayers, a witch, and a frickin vengeance demon in the house, it'd likely be their last peep. ^^
Another "that is so grossly wrong" moments is Buffy having sex with Spike ontop of Dawn's dinner and then coming into the house and giving Dawn the dented burger. And Dawn commented on it being smooshed too!

I agree about that one... Completely messed up. :(
There are a lot of moments in the show like that... The last one you mentioned though is the only one that ever grossed me out. LOL The rest just made me laugh... It does seem that Dawn likes to hear about the gory details of things a little too much though...

Angelus saying that Angel masturbated while listening to Fred & Gunn having sex. While it isn't really wrong of Angel, especially since he has vampire hearing and he was forcibly celibate, but Gunn/Fred finding out was so weird. I wondered if that was a little embarassing or awkard for Angel after that.

Wood and Faith having sex all night in Buffy's sheets, in Buffy's bed, in Buffy's bedroom.

I still don't know how we are supposed to think of that scene when Professor Walsh is watching Buffy&Riley having sex on the hidden security camera in the dorm room. She is just sitting there by herself staring at Riley thrusting into Buffy. All that was missing was some popcorn and a bottle of lubricant.

I wonder if Angelus didn't lie about that. Kind of hope so.

I never thought Angelus was serious about the Fred/Gunn thing... kind of creepy if he was serious, lmao.
Ooooohhh, I totally forgot about those last three you mentioned!! Yeah, the first and last one of that paragraph really creeped me out. :/

oh the part about professor Walsh watching Riley and Buffy always really disturbed. ESPECIALLY since she seemed to view Riley rather like a favorite son of hers... I mean, that's just gross.

Jonathon peeing in the pool always sits uncomfortably with me. I know he was picked on but forcing your bullies to unwittingly drink and bathe in your urine?

I always wondered if Xander was telling the truth when he said that if he had the power to be invisible he would use it to "protect" the girls lockeroom. (later we see the Trio use an invisibility gun to spy on women)

Dawn flipping pancakes without a spatula...on purpose.

well to those I just say, c'mon teenage boys. I mean of course you'll want a sneak in at the girls lockeroom, that's not weird.

And the pool thing, I'd say chances are someone else had already peed in that pool anyway. gross but true. petty and unsophisticated as well, but again - teenagers

Wanting to see a bunch of hot teenage naked girls *who doesn't?* is one thing but would he have actually done it had he been given that ability? I think he definitely would have. It's thoughts/desires versus actions/impulse control. He tried to glimpse a peek of Buffy while she was changing and we know when he gives in to his desires instead of his moral code *The Pack, the hynea spirit slowly posessed him, he wasn't Xander one minute and Hynea-in-Xander's-body the next* he is capable of attempted rape.

Not sure how common it's in a school pool like that but if it's a public one you should take for granted that it has pee in it. Such a happy thought. 😛

haha yeah I know, think about it every time I take my brother to the public pool :S
Cordelia being annoyed when she rammed her car into a girl on a bike and the poor thing is in pain. Cordy was more focused on the trauma she was going through having hit someone and could care less about the girl's injured leg.

Dawn being all "cool" when she saw the massive stab wound on Buffy's stomach. Gory kid indeed.

I think you're reading way too much into it... When he tried to rape Buffy, he wasn't Xander; it was the hyena inside him. Same as when Angelus did all that stuff to all of them when he lost his soul. He was controlled by the demon inside, not by his soul, so it was not Angel.

I don't know. Should you be able to remember the events after you'd been posessed? And the hynea had Xander's memories and desires and was clearly using his brain.

It always amazed me how she could hear about Spike's evil deeds, yet never trully get that he was evil, she just seemed to think it was cool. I know she was young, but when I like to think that when I was her age, I would try my hardest not to crush on a murderer. I guess she didn't get it until after she heard about the attempted rape. I think that was a wake up call for her.

It's weird that the slayer's little sis can be so calm around murderers tough. But then again, no one acts weird around Anya who has probably killed more people than Angelus and Spike combined, and who likes to talk about. I guess it's not weird that Dawn was a bit messed up.

I agree with Hismrs, I think you're misunderstanding the character. He is many bad things, but not a rapist, and I doubt he wants to be. The possession happened right away. All of a sudden he wasn't completely Xander anymore, it was instant. Why do you think it was slow?

It was because he didn't just become a hynea in a human body. It was more like he became a more aggressive Xander without a moral code and impulse control. It was like the hynea predatory qualities were affecting more than a WAY type posession.
I always think "WTF?" when that teacher from OOMOOS compliments Cordelia on her insight. I always think it is redonkilous that she heard the same thing I heard about Cordy hitting that girl with the leg and just sounding really clueless and yet somehow thought it was like listening to Rory Gilmore. I've taken part in class discussions with students giving intelligent remarks (given some myself) but the things Cordy would say "She was going to let them have cake" were kind of stupid. Which is okay since not all teens want to really delve into serious topics but a teacher should know better.

I remember at first I thought it was weird that Xander would check out pagan books to stare at the semi-nude engravings but then realized he probably didn't have a computer. But then by S3 he at least had Playboys (hidden in his locker).

One word:

Having a sexbot made. 'Nough said.

Not Spike's finest moment.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should mention any of the weird ass things Spike has done since he didn't have a soul.

Sneaking into Buffy's house to smell her clothes. Stealing her blue cashmere sweater and a pair of her panties and photos of her. No longer being able to get it up for another female until he has Harmony dress up in Buffy's clothes and go around the crypt carrying a stake pretending to be Buffy. Having a Buffy shrine. Practicing what he is going to say to Buffy on a manequin with a blond wig. Standing outside her house listening to her having sex with Riley.

Okay, I get how you mean, that Xander was under the influence of a hyena spirit, not a different personlity took over Xander(even tough I think the spirit was in him instantly, not that it happened slowly). But I still don't agree with you when you say that Xander is capable of rape, no more than any other character possessed by a hyena spirit.

Xander in OMWF.

He did a spell including singing and dancing. People were dying. Xander lied about having no clue about why people were singing and dancing. He would have to be retarded not to get by now that spells rarely work out great, which means, that he should have thought "Hey, maybe I did something stupid".

So that was weird. What's even weirder is that even tough a big theme of the season was Willow's abuse of magic, we never see on-screen anyone ripping Xander a new one. Maybe they expected him to already have learned the lesson, but then again, isn't the fact that he did the spell in the first place proof of that he's a slow learner?

So that was weird behavior of Xander. I guess the others can be excused, since they just found out they brought Buffy back from Heaven. And it's not like the other characters didn't have alot on their plate anyway.

I guess the whole thing feels off. Like they made Xander a moron for a gay-joke. Bad unsatisfying weird story-telling.

Yeah, I should have said that the posession happened instantly but the affect it had on him happened slowly. I don't think he is more prone to rape. Just that it was the predatory nature of the hynea making him act out his urges and emotions.
I've just watched Faith, Hope and Trick. At the end, when Buffy told Giles and Willow that Angel was cured before she killed him. After Buffy left, Willow told Giles she can help him with the spell. And Giles replied "No more magic". I think it's weird that after Willow realized she can use a spell, she suddenly said she wanna practice more. I mean, right after she learned about Angel. She should have felt sad and said nothing, right?

This is why I say that Willow was on her way to being a Magick Crackwhore as early as late S2/early S3. She was already obsesed with doing spells and taking pride in it.
