Andrew and "The Big Board"!!!

I just had to share a bit of my geeker joy with you all. I just finished watching Season 7 for the first time, and I went absolutely bananas when Andrew started talking about "The Big Board".

For anybody who doesn't know (and cares), The Big Board is a reference to the movie Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb, which is one of my favorite all-time movies. It's a comedy about nuclear war...you gotta love that! In the movie the President of the United States and his advisors sit in the War Room, underneath a huge lighted world map that shows strategic information. One of the generals repeatedly refers to the map as "The Big Board".

Anyhoo, that's your useless piece of trivia for the day. I love Buffy and I love Dr. Strangelove, so to see Andrew bring the two together made me run around in hysterical joy, hugging strangers and high-fiveing my mortal enemies. Or possibly it just made me chuckle appreciatively, but the first version sounds way cooler.
 
LMFAO LD! Actually, I happen to love usless trivia type stuff...it's the only thing I ever seem to retain...so THANK YOU! Now I need to go watch that episode again so I can laugh and feel special that I know that...😀
 
Dammit! I missed that reference. It's such a long time since I saw the Kubrick/Sellers masterwork...

You know that Buffy episode where Xander gets split into two different people? I think we may have actually been the same person at some point, Mr. Pointy, and then a ne'er do well demony type zapped us with a boomstick and split us in two. I'm not sure what this demon's ultimate plan was, but I'm thinking that Phase I was a divide and conquer sort of gig - sending us to opposite sides of the pond to maximize our coverage. I wonder if there's one of us in Africa? Or perhaps in South America, where Gregory Peck is overseeing our development...

This would be the demon from the Goodtasteinmovies clan, I suspect.

Their precious young minds will be ours, my friend...mwahahahaha!
 
The big board...I'll remember this useless trivia my whole life, but won't be able to remember what i did just yesterday......lol useless trivia is always fun.
 
I've taped the movie about a month ago, haven't gotten round to watching it yet, but I will definitly do so. Even if I would've watched it, I probably would've missed the reference, I think I actually miss most of them.
