Andy Hallett dies

Omg thats just so sad, i had no idea he was sick its a real tragedy and at such a young age, i really liked him. RIP andy you will be missed 🙁

That's so sad!! I didn't know he was ill, oh, R.I.P and my thoughts are with his Family and Friends....Such a shame... 🙁 🙁
 
Oh, God, I am so saddened by this. I met Andy a few years ago, he was a lovely man, so friendly and full of jokes. He will be missed.

Actor Andy Hallett, renowned for playing Lorne in Angel, has died aged just 33.

Posting on his MySpace page, former Angel make up designer Dayne Johnson broke the news late this evening. He said: "It is with great sadness and my heavy heart to have to tell those of you who do not know, that Andy Hallett passed away last night. His friendship and laughter will be remembered forever."

Andy Hallett was born in Massachusetts and moved to Los Angeles where he got the role of the karoake-loving Host after Joss Whedon saw him singing in a Blues revue. The role was his first ever job as an actor. He had been in ill health for some time.

A fan favourite, he was a regular on the convention circuit, and visited the UK many times appearing at events and signings.

Angel Star Andy Hallett Dies of Heart Failure

Andy Hallett, 33, who starred as Lorne ("the Host") on the TV series Angel, died of heart failure last night at age 33, according to his agent. The actor passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital after a five-year battle with heart disease.

Hallett, born in from the Cape Cod village of Osterville, Mass., appeared on more than 70 episodes of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff, Angel, between 2000 and 2004. The accomplished actor was also a musician and sang two songs ("Lady Marmalade" and "It's Not Easy Being Green") on the Angel: Live Fast, Die Never soundtrack, released in 2005.

I can't believe it 🙁 so awfull and terrible news, especially from such a nice guy like Andy. He will be surely missed. He and his beloved ones will be in my prays.

This is such sad news. I will miss him. He always seemed to be a funny, sincere, kind and happy man. I never knew he was sick either. He will always live on with us Angel fans. Lorne was a fantastic character, brought to life wonderfully by Andy Hallett. Rest In Peace. 🙁
