What do you want me to tell you? I’m still under the impression this episode left on me, but I’ll try my best:
Like every week, I ask you to get detailed information about the episode from the summary posted earlier.
To sum up the story: Lindsey tries to kill Angel, but Cordelia is back and (thanks to her visions) able to rescue the situation.
The Senior Partners left a machine in the basement of Wolfram & Hart to get rid of Angel if they want to. Lindsey wants to activate this machine but the return of Cordelia and some hits on Eves head are able to put Angel & Co on his track.
When Lindsey is defeated and the whole Angel is happy and out for a drink, we learn that Cordy never woke up. No, it’s worse, she died during the day:
.... but Cordelia stays behind with Angel. He thanks her for her help and says he feels better about his job now. She assures him he’ll win the big fight, and says she wishes she could be here to see it... but that she can’t stay because it’s just not her life any more. Angel says he needs her, but she says she’s on another road now.
The phone rings and Angel says he doesn’t have to get it. She says he does, so he goes over to the phone. As he picks it up out-of-shot, she sadly says, "You’re welcome" and leaves.Angel is taking the phone call and says, "I know, she’s right-" and turns and looks. Cordelia is gone. The phone call continues and Angel’s voice begins to crack. "When did she die? So she never woke up?"
I’m totally shocked and happy at the same time! "You’re Wellcome“ leaves a feeling behind that’s similar to Buffys final episode.
During the episode itself you aren’t even able to concentrate on other things than Cordelias comeback. Charisma presence is too impressive and in moments you want to think about this, the exciting story distracts you from everything else.
What’s left is a sad feeling about Cordys death. She was always the real champion on Angels side for me. But now this will all be over....ok, you never know in Jossverse, but this time I don’t think she’s coming back.
I tell you: Watch the episode yourself and see one of the most exciting one ever!
Cordy, we will miss you....Charisma, thanks for all these years!
