Angel and Faith canon?

Hi, all,

Could anyone be so kind as to confirm whether or not the Angel and Faith comic is canon? Could you post any links to any quotes too, if you have 'em. Thanks 🙂

Yes, it will be canon. Joss is executive-producing it, just as he did season 8.

All Buffyverse comics released by Dark Horse since the start of season 8 can be considered canon, as Joss is overseeing all of it.

I'll try to explain as best as I can.

It means it's the things that really happen (on the verse), meaning not fanfiction and such, but things that really continue the show. It stays on the verse storyline.

Hope you get the idea.
 
I define canon in the Buffyverse as "Joss is directly involved, either writing or overseeing, and everything that happens will be part of his story for these characters."

Thanks, Andrew. I kinda assumed it was, but was having trouble finding confirmation, and your reasoning is good enough. Non-canon isn't really of interest to me, not when it's as expensive as buying an additional comic every month to the Buffy, so I didn't want to make the same mistake as with Angel: Aftermath, when I got pretty far in before discovering canon ended with After the Fall 😱
 
Mr. P, don't discredit IDW's work. A lot of the books are quite amazing, and Scott Allie has said that the content that happened after After the Fall is not going to be swept under the rug either. Before the run concluded, IDW produced some amazing stories with the last three arcs that ran concurrently (being the main Angel title, Angel: Illyria, and the Spike miniseries), all of which tie smoothly things into Season 8. These also turned the previous stories into canon for the most part.

I highly recommend reading IDW's work since Joss has big plans for Connor and Illyria in Season 9.
