Angel And Faith Romance

How surprised would you be if Angel and Faith become romantically involved? And, note, I did not say "fall in love," because I seriously doubt that either one of them would be ready for anything really permanent right now.

As for the OP, I could never see Angel & Faith as a couple! So I would be VERY surprised if it turned out like that...

I would hate it. I think they make better friends. I would like to see Faith die later on in the series. Oh! Or her to become a Vamp and than we'd see a badass Angel vs. Slayer/Vampire xD

I don't think it will happen in season 9... but in season 10, it needs to. IMO they belong together. I thought this from the first time I watched season 3 of Buffy.

Well considering their story-lines and such I would not be shocked at all and I could see how it would happen. I always thought Faith and Angel secretly wanted each other 😛
I am a Cangel first but Faith/Angel could be interesting.

Don't rupture anything, Miss K. I wasn't proposing it. I just asked who would be surprised if it happened. Joss has already come close to the same thing in Season 8 with Buffy and Xander. I just wondered if anyone thought that he would try something like that again in Season 9.

But, Miss K as the Season 10 Big Bad? Got me shivering in my shoes. These other folks may not know just how truly dangerous you can be, but I know.

I have to agree.

An Angel/Faith affair would just be so cliched and cheesy at this point. I think most fans would just roll their eyes.

Its far cooler to just have them be really great, mutally respectful friends.

I don't even want to see any flirting! They're not John Steed and Emma Peel!

Faith and Angel should remain strictly platonic. It's like I just read recently in an article called "Why Hermoine Matters": just because a male and a female character are the two leads in a story does not mean that have to be romantically involved. It's empowering to both genders when a mutually beneficial relationship can evolve and continue without romantic or sexual feelings arising.

Angel and Faith have way too many similarities for a romantic relationship to be successful between them. At all. Ever. Two reformed psycho-killers does not a match in heaven make.

This same principal could be applied to Kennedy and Satsu for that matter. Just because both are gay doesn't mean that they now have to be a couple because Willow broke up with Kennedy. These two slayers can now have a fully developed friendship that lasts longer and has much deeper ties than most romantic relationships ever could.

In Jossverse, romance=major badness. Especially for Angel.

So, on one hand I want to see their romance, but, OTOH, I dread it. Maybe it could work as the definite ending of the series - but, again, I don't think Joss will get Angel off the hook and let him have a happy ending.

That said, I adore the idea of Angel/Faith because both are pretty and can be great manipping material; they have a long history; they could be awesome together.

OK, now I'm intrigued. What are your reasons?

Of course part of my reason for not wanting them to get together is coloured by my ship status 😛, but honestly, I just don't want the friendship ruined (like what happened with Cangel). They need each other as friends more than they could ever need each other as lovers.
