Angel and his leather pants

Am I the only one who cringes every time Angel walks around in leather pants?

He looks convincing and tough whenever he walks around in a leather jacket/trenchcoat, and its a pretty cool mysterious stranger look, but the leather pants is just an awful look for him. I'm just of the opinion that very few dudes can get away with wearing leather pants and still look cool, and David Boreanaz/Angel just isn't one of them.

What do others think?

No, I totally agree. It was a cheesy nineties thing that hasn't stood the test of time.
I'm actually cool with the leatherpants when he's Angelus in Buffy s2 (does he wear them later? Can't recall right now...) and I really think DB can pull it off, at least then. I agree with you though that few people can pull it off and still look cool.

If Wes was only wearing leather pants he'd look silly, but throw in a matching leather jacket and suddenly he's a BAMF

I don't know what a BAMF is but I do agree that Wes looks silly there and that leather jacket + leather pants looks silly. But on Angelus... nope still find it hot 😀
 
Leather pants are NEVER a good look. I can understand why they put Faith in leather, because she was MEANT to look tacky, but other than that, leather pants in abundance was just yet another Buffy costume design fail. So many of them...
 
Amen to that Cait. Another costume fail was giving Riley a red leather jacket with a turtle neck sweater. That's another look few dudes can pull off appropriately.

I'm with [MENTION=9799]Taake[/MENTION]. I love the leather pants as long as he's playing the villain.... David could rock those things out, yo. But if he was prancing around in them when he was with soul, it would feel like Angel was trying too hard to look like a badass. 🙂
 
I think the leather pants were a good look on Angelus, Faith and Buffy (I might to this day be swooning over those red leather pants.). They pulled them off. Others... not so much.
 
I am a big fan of leather. I love seeing Angel/Angelus in leather. I think it is very becoming on him. I also think that Buffy and Faith pulled it off. They know how to work the pants. 🙂
 
I love the use of leather trousers for Buffy and Faith, but not so much for Angel. It just looks odd, especially if he has a leather jacket too.
 
I thought the leather pants worked really well with the Angelus character; it didn't seem odd at all that he was wearing them. They might not be the best look on DB but he certainly didn't look bad in them. 🙂
 
If I might suggest...

As far as leather pants are concerned, the last man to ever carry off the look successfully was Fess Parker as Davy Crockett back in 1955.

For me the pink pants don't bother me as much. I'll often see women walking around in pink tracksuits or pink coloured clothes so its nothing new to my eyes and isn't as much of an eyesore compared to a dude walking around in leather pants.
 
Angelus in leather pants = works
Angel in leather pants = meeeehhaaa'm not sure. I think I saw him in them in season 3 and thought it looked weird. Good? Weird. Good weird?
