Angel and Spike's hair

So if they cant see their reflection in the mirror how the hell do Spike and Angel get their hair so damn perfect?

Other then being dyed I dont think Spikes hair wasn't really styled, but Angel I'm convinced employed someone to sort his hair out before he left house/crypt every morning, or it naturally grew that way!

I'm gonna quote Big Bang Theory here; "Well-groomed vampires meet in pairs and shave each other" ;p

Honestly I don't think their hairstyles are that advanced and could be achieved without a mirror (when Angel finally sees himself in a mirror in Pylea he is not happy with the result) by the use of some gel and a bit of tugging/combing. 🙂

haha, exactly was [MENTION=9799]Taake[/MENTION] said, Angel obviously had no clue his hair looked like that because he wasn't impressed when he saw himself for the first time in centuries.

I'm guessing they just improvised. Spike simply has to gel his hair backwards, and Angel just gels it upwards. Like, if I was a vampire I could still braid my hair, or tie it up, or straighten it, as long as it's not a very complicated hairdo.

Yeah I figured their sense of things just improved and they had been gelling their hair before they passed away so they can continue doing it without even seeing themselves.

I dont know, is Angels hair something you can even do with gel?

Gel is heavy, I dont think he could get his hair to stand like that with gel, doesn't seem to be a wax since it's matt, it's mostly likely hairspray or a combination of a light gel and hairspray - it would have taken work to get like that.

I do think you could achieve it with only gel though

Whether it applies here or not, Fred Saberhagen, in his novel "An Old Friend Of The Family" has Dracula using a shaving "mirror" consisting of a video camera and a screen large enough to reproduce a life sized image of himself. I know, Mr Saberhagen isn't Joss, and Dracula isn't Angel, but a similar technique might be used by Angel, and Spike's hair style doesn't require a mirror, just comb it straight back and paste it down.

And while I agree, we are probably overthinking such a minor point, certain people here would be quick to point out that overthinking is one of my favorite pastimes.
