Question Angel: Blood & Trenches

Canon becomes contentuous once Aftermath kicks in because Joss is no longer involved. So, personally I won't be taking anything as canon after ATF.

Also, Joss has stressed several times that this is not season 6 but simply what happens between the end of season 5 and proverbial season 6.

Somehow I think they would be ignoring me since people will buy the comics just because it is associated with and assumed canon.

But just in the act of stressing the fact that "After The Fall" IS what happens between the end of Season 5 and some (hopefully) future series called "Angel: Season 6," doesn't that, in effect, verify that it IS canon? Otherwise, we're still stuck there in that damn alley wondering how Angel and the other good guys manage to escape.

Well basically we are becuase when ATF ends Angel and cohorts are back in the alley. What happens in Aftermath doesn't have Joss's stamp of approval so it really can't be called canon, not as we would deem canon anyway.

Time. I would think that would be the major problem, what with Dollhouse, Buffy Season 8 and his movie 'Cabin in the Woods' he is a very busy man.

Well now that everyone's talking all serious... After the Fall is definitely canon, Joss is the EP on it just like he was for the TV Series. In fact, Joss said that AtF has turned out extremely similarly to how he, Fury & Bell had planned on Angel Season 6 working out for the WB. He said AtF is far more like what he'd envisioned for TV than Buffy S8.

With Aftermath, it does have Joss' stamp of approval according to Armstrong (Aftermath's writer). I find Armstrong's credibility to be dubious though because she's super evasive in all of the interviews I read. But in each she says that Aftermath is Buffyverse canon approved by Joss, and it's as canon as any other Buffyverse episodes that weren't specifically written by Joss (most of them weren't). And she says future Buffyverse stories will regard Aftermath as canon.

That's what she says, I don't know if I trust it though.

Well if joss hasnt contradicted her yet im guessing thats a good sign.

Now that im thinking about it, im actually not too fussed with Joss not being part of it, i mean, hes been involved with S8 and look how thats turned out so far :|

As far as I know Blood & Trenches won't be canon. Although it's not very likely to contradict anything in the canon.

Aftermath will be. It's just the name of the next arc in the Angel series.

This is old news. I knew this from day 1.
