Angel/Buffy and Connor/Dawn

One of my biggest regrets of the series is that there is no scene between Buffy / Connor and Dawn / Angel. I think these relationships have potential and it's a shame not to exploit them. So I wonder how you see this meeting. Here are some questions to clarify a little more the subject :

- Can you imagine a discussion between Buffy and Angel in which Angel would say he has a son, how did it happen and what do you think would be Buffy's reaction ? Specify when it would happen

- Buffy meets Connor, presumably it happens after "Not fade away". What would they think of each other ?

- Angel and Dawn know each other, they have common memories together but a physical meeting would have been nice. How do you see the thing ?

If someone has fanfic to offer me on this topic, I'm open !

Shock, disbelief, curiosity, acceptance, in that order, with a whole lot of Buffyspeak involved.

Buffy would be at first cautious, then friendly. No really big deal, once over the initial shock.

Connor would probably be initially apprehensive about meeting another Slayer, after his run in with Faith, but they would eventually get used to each other.

Dawn would be resentful of Angel for leaving Buffy the way that he did, and, I think, somewhat apprehensive because of her "memories" of Angelus. I can't see them ever being friends, or even being totally comfortable with each other.

Though not part of the question, I think that Dawn and Connor would have been a natural couple, and it would probably turn out that there was some prophecy concerning the two of them.

Depending on when it happened, I don't think Angel meeting Dawn would go well. She is very protective of her sister and would find it difficult to forgive Angel (as she did with Spike) for all he put her sister through.

They have met in the comics and Dawn admits she had a crush on him and she hugs him like he's an old friend 🙂

I really think this all depends on when that conversation would take place. I feel like if she would have found out in Season 6 she would have been distraught over it. Especially given the whole "babies and picnics" talk he gave her. She was still raw and dealing with her resurrection, clearly depressed from their off screen meeting and thinking about the unfairness of not being able to be with him in the All the Way story arc so - I don't think she would take it all that well then.

I feel like Angel would be nervous about telling her as well because doing so also means telling her that he had sex with Darla which would be complicated. Given Buffy's history of being jealous over Angel.

If she found out post Season 7, I think she would be slightly thrown by the news but less personally affected. I think she would be curious to meet Connor.

I think the fic below is about as close as I can see it working out. I do wonder given that Buffy can "sense" Angel's presence would she have any type of ability to sense Connor? I think there would be a certain amount of conflict in knowing that this was a child that Angel shares with Darla and not her but I would like to think she would be able to put all of that aside to be happy for Angel that he got a chance to have this miraculous child - something he always wanted, for her as well.

I mean I think the Season 10 stuff works pretty well for me. I feel like Dawn probably thought Angel was cute pre Angelus. I think post Angelus she would have been distrustful but Dawn is smart. She never had problems understanding the soul issue with Spike and I don't see why she wouldn't have been able to make that distinction with Angel. I do believe she would be protective of Buffy and of how she was so upset when he left. I think Dawn is kind of like Willow in that whoever Buffy wants to be with she supports that relationship.

Its an abandoned fic but it actually ends at a pretty good spot so your not like WHAT HAPPENED? I like the Buffy and Connor interactions and love the Faith stuff too. Buffy and Connor are not central but a big part of that fic I think. There is one scene where Buffy and Connor talk about Darla that I really like.

She seemed pretty comfortable with Spike so it seems like she would have shared a similar relationship with Angel. Actually post Angel season 5 I think Buffy would find the idea of Angel having a son pretty cool, especially since Connor at that time had a laid back and likable personality. She probably found out at some point that Angel slept with Darla, and she would've have known about Connor from Faith. So it wouldn't be big news, and therefore she would have already processed it, and they could get along. But Connor would obviously be crushing on her. Warrior women make him warm up, as Illyria eloquently puts it.

I think Buffy would handle meeting teenage/twenty-something Connor easier than baby Connor.

Seeing him as a baby would make her think of pregnancy and conception, of their talks in Bad Eggs and Prom, of the dreams she's had of him being human. It would make her think, "He should have been ours." She'd see a baby and what he represents instead of seeing Connor.

As teen/young adult Connor, she would think of it as similar to what she has with Dawn, who is her daughter and comes from her bloodline and was exactly what she needed to believe in humanity and always keep fighting but wouldn't exist without magic or if she wasn't the Slayer.

Buffy would handle finding out Angel slept with Darla a lot better if it was any time after she slept with Spike. It's one of the reasons I think Angel handled finding out about that better than he would have at an earlier date.

AtS S5 Connor is 19, only 8 years younger in appearance than Angel. BtVS s8 Connor would be 20 or 21, only 6 or 7 years younger in appearance than Angel. Dawn is only 5 years younger than Buffy.

Dawn was possibly created in November 1999 and finished in August 2000. Connor was conceived in February 2001 and born in November 2001.

Lol, I didn't think so, I'm just explaining myself badly as usual 🙂 My first point was about Dawn and Angel meeting in the show, S5-7, and I thought they wouldn't get on too well. But meeting in the comics, several years later, when Dawn was more mature, she and Angel were very friendly. She even admitted she'd had a crush on him, and I don't think she'd have ever told him that on the show.
