Lilah as Fred wishes that one day she'll have hips. To judge by 'Spin the Bottle' I'd say she'd prefer bigger breasts. CC and Connor also get it on. A lot of people dislike this as they think it's tantamount to incest but frankly I'm ok with it as long as they're not blood relations (fine with a girl wanting a daddy figure as long as it's not actually her daddy). Remember Connor doesn't remember CC acting as his mother and to her she's the closest thing she'll ever get to Angel (just as Spike hangs out with Joyce and Dawn because they're the closest thing he can get to Buffy) When told that snakes emerged from a part of someone's body Lorne wonders if it was just some form of sex game? When Wes suggests 'pooling resources' Gunn tells him to 'Go pool himself'.

Questions and observations;
Really like the way it's Gunn that figures out the symbol although it looks a bit like the cross of St Patrick to me (the red diagnols on the Union Jack). Can anyone tell me at exactly what point CC goes evil, it's never clear to me? Gunn's fear of rats reoccurs, living in abandoned buildings for so long must have been very tough for him. Really this is the end of the road for Cangel. Angel asks Wes if he's 'in' much as Doyle asks Angel if he's 'game'. Goodbye to Gunn's hubcap axe.

It's stated in the show that Cordy becomes evil after Lorne restores her memory in 'Spin the Bottle'. However, judging from the look on her face after she wakes up to Connor next epi I'd say it was more of a gradual takeover.

I don't have any specific problem with the idea of Connor/Cordy but the actual scene is creepy, badly done & wrong. I did NOT need to see Connor akwardly grinding atop a thoroughly nonplused Cordelia, that is a visual I could have lived my whole life without seeing & been very happy.

I agree there. I mean, it's technically not Cordelia at that point, right? But the actual scene is gross.

When I rewatch, I always try to imagine what it would have been like for someone watching this for the first time when it first aired. They would have no idea that Cordy was the Beastmaster & I can only imagine a sort of "Dear God, what are you doing? Stop it! Stop it! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" reaction to that scene. Without knowledge of what is to come that scene makes no sense plus like you say, gross.

Let me just say that Connor and Cordelia getting it on was just WRONG, on so many levels. Whether it was really Cordelia at the time or not, I really don't care-just, no. On unrelated notes, so sad to see how distant and awkward Gunn and Fred's relationship had become at this point. Funniest part? I thought the "No." "Why?" mini-debate between Lorne and Angel at the beginning of the episode was pretty funny.

I love this episode (minus the obvious Odeipal scene) but seeing this thread made me realize that I have never ever seen a Whedonverse fan who actually liked the Connor/Cordy pairing, it must be like the most unpopular thing throughout the series.

Are there any of you out there? Anyone who likes this scene? Anyone who enjoys seeing C/C together?

Because I don't think it matters anymore. I know how you feel about me, Connor. When I think about what you've... you never had a childhood, or a family or friends or anything that's real, and if this is the end, I want you to have something that is.

Whoever's speaking: Cordy, Jasmine, whatever... that's some unpleasantly Harlequin-romance dialogue. The wrongness of the whole scene starts right there, with the idea that sex with your surrogate mama is in some way 'something real' - a favour to poor, unlucky Connor.

It's revealed in "Inside Out" that Jasmine took over her body when her memories were restored at the end of "Spin the Bottle". This means that a few of her actions in subsequent episodes don't make much sense (like her dream vision of the Beast in "Apocalypse Nowish") - I don't think the evil Cordelia storyline was well thought out, and I suspect a lot of it was made up on the fly.

What an episode.This has to be the start of one of the most dramatic arc's of Buffy/Angel. What a fight scene, I loved it so so so much. When the rain of fire starts to plummet to earth, I love that scene seeing Lilah looking out of the window etc etc etc.

I loved this episode. I thought it was amazing. It has to be one of my favorites. The one thing that I CANNOT STAND is the Cordy & Connor seen at the end. It was just so random and uncalled for. That scene should be banned from the show & against the law to watch. Hahaha.

The fight scene on top of the club is my favorite fight scene of the series by far. I loved that scene. So awesome to watch!

My feeling exactly! I just finished "Apocalypse Nowish" and I certainly don't get that Cordelia wasn't herself. If Jasmine was in control, she was doing some pretty good acting.

You know, I never did get this story line. Why did Connor have to be Jasmine's father? Why did she need a father at all, with that much magic, couldn't she have managed a pregnancy without sex? Why, for that matter, did she need a pregnancy at all? Why didn't she just teleport into our dimension, maybe staging a light show to hide the details from the riff-raff?

I know the answer, of course. Connor and Cordy needed something to do, and we needed a tie-in with the plot of S3. But those reasons aren't very satisfying.

This episode was okay for me because some parts were interesting and it was cute and sexy when Lilah dressed up as Fred for Wesley.

However, the ending scene with Cordy/Connor sleeping together was just GROSS and HORRIBLE because she changed his diapers when he was a baby and she looked so much older than him. Like sharona1981, for me it doesn't matter if it was or wasn't Cordelia, it's still disgusting!

I saw this eps the first time it aired and I had no problem with the sex scene. I was never a fan of Angel and Cordy and didn't care much for Connor and her. To me it was just another relationship starting up. I didn't find it gross or anything. Maybe a little taking back that they showed the sex scene somewhat. When it showed Angel watching them I got interested. I was waiting for him to go nuts and crash through their window 😛

Interesting how Cordy and Connor distracts all the attention from Lilah dressing up and acting like Fred in order to seduce Wesley...and he likes it! It's a really dark streak in Wesley's character, particularly coming so closely on top of 'Spin the Bottle' reminding us of how he started out.

But then again, I don't think they thought out the father-son sexual jealousy as well as they might. Done properly it could have been really powerful but (at least so far) they don't seem to have worked it out.
