Wonderfully clever opening, you think Gwen's parents and headmistress are uncaring but actually they love her, they can just never touch her no matter how much they want to. Also love Angel's drawing and Fred's show, especially her little ghost.

The Bad;
Gwen is fab, the rest of it is pretty stupid truth be told

Gwen describes Angel as handsome and Gunn and 'Denzel' which certainly must have pleased him. Gwen describes Angel as a great kisser (the Furies were right) and sits astride him.

Fred's plans include going to prison and becoming somebody's bitch. She hopes her cellmate will be gentle (see also What the fanficcers thought). Gwen seems very close to her cute blonde Marlene Detreich-like female butler. Gwen calls Fred honey.

What the fanficcers thought;
Read an interesting one where Fred does indeed go to prison and becomes someone's bitch. Lucky for her that someone is Faith. Also the last appearance (or not) of Phantom Dennis. Read a lovely fic once where CC in 'You're welcome' goes to visit Dennis and tell's him that she loves him and it's time to pass over to the other side which indeed he does, his love for her all that was keeping him on Earth. Questions and observations;
Wes has his own organisation with 3 employees, maybe that's what Gunn and Fred are broke, he's taking their business. The Chandler auction house is of course a homage to LA author Raymond Chandler. Angel's 2 previous break-ins were in The Shroud of Rhamon and Choices in Buffy. Neither is very successful. The squatter camp Connor goes to is the old power station you see in countless movies and TV.
So why does no one wonder about Groo? Possibly because he let Lorne, Fred, Gunn know of his plans or maybe he's been in touch with them since?

I love this episode. But yeah, that's mostly because of Gwen. I really feel bad when she refers to herself as 'freak'.

Love the hi-tech security. And of course, Fred and Gunn. A little shocked when Gunn died. 😱 And Higher Being Cordy in the end of these eps are hilarious.

I loved Fred in this episode, her little breakdown she has to Gunn is sweet, and is one of the moments I actually like them as a pairing.
Young Gwen was so cute.

I love Gwen, I wish they had done more with her. I wonder how she & Faith would get along? I know she had a big role in the IDW comics, and I wonder if Joss will do anything with her over at Dark Horse in season 9? Young Gwen & her parents reminds me very much of Jean Grey and the X-Men.

I'm sorry, I hate Cordy as a higher being with a firey passion. I really dislike how they make her say these glib, stupid comments. I, too, wonder about Phantom Dennis.

More Lilah & Wesley hotness...nothing wrong with that.

Though I love this season, this episode is my least favorite, it's not as interesting as the others.

Gwen, I didn't like her, but I didn't mind her either but that scene when she enters the bar is hot, first time I saw it I was just going "mums" which is Swedish for 'yum'. However I don't like the interactions between her and Angel, and I don't think she needed to be brought back in later episodes.

This episode was a little boring...I don't like Gwen very much, it seems like a character who doesn't offer more than what we see. Plus, I don't understand why Angel kissed her. Ahaha.

I think there's a fun episode trying to get out here- touches like Fred's flipchart presentation and the idea of doing a heist episode with a sexy female competitor for Angel are all good, but for whatever reason it doesn't quite have the zing it needed.

As regards Angel and Gwen kissing, I think the suggestion is that it's to do with Gwen's electricity starting Angel's heart beating although it's also a a bit of an awkward attempt to set up some sexual tension.
