Angel ep by ep; IN THE DARK (here's Spike!)

One of the best episodes of the season for me. A season which for me is probably the weakest out of the five.

Its no coincidence that i liked this episode though. Its a crossover and i thought it was done really well. Oz coming into the fray made total sense and i agree with the conception that he looked right at home.

Spike's involvement was always going to make the episode more interesting because that's what Spike does. He brings something different, fresh, that being humour which we start seeing from Angel in future episodes.

The storyline i thought was also strong and it was very enjoyable. Definately seeing familar faces like Oz and Spike helped in a season which in comparison to future seasons was quite stale and took awhile to get going. That's not to say the season wasn't good because it was. It allowed us to understand the character of Angel and for his personality traits to develop and ultimately make him a stronger and more likeable character which was needed if the show was to succeed.

I loved seeing this episode it doesn't hurt that it had my all time favorite Spike and then add in Oz it was very enjoyable. I always liked seeing Angel and Spike together it seems like they feed off of each other there bickering is hilarious.
I agree with Oz Angel was paler than usual 😉

really great episode!!!Angel watching the sunset in the end...this is really touching...at least until season 5 he would never be able to walk on the light again!!!

He was out in the daytime in IWRY, too.

Loved Spike's monologue (one of the best!!), but I honestly liked him in Harsh Light of Day better: he was funnier, sexier, fight scene was better. I, too like Oz and the interaction with everybody, but the whole thing with Marcus I kind of thought was a bore.

lots of funny lines in this

Doyle (to Cordelia): are they always like this?
Oz: no usually we're laconic
LOL

and the banter about Spikes plan when he first fights Angel cracked me up

plus
Spike (hits wall falls to ground, looks up): Cordelia! You look smashing!

"takes a deep breath" Savannah is proud to finally comment on an Angel episode. Are you proud of me?

This was one of my favourites so far, which is stupid to say since I've only seen three episodes but you know. This one was amazing. Was it just because it meant there were three of the sexiest men alive on the same show at the same time? James Marsters, Seth Green and David Boreanez. But Spike added so much to the episode. But I think one of my favourite parts was Cordelia and Oz, when he first arrived and all of that. And then when he was talking to Angel. LOL. Some really funny stuff.

Anyways, I loved this episode. You got that.

This episode is such a sweet sneak peek of what we would get in season five. It always makes me sad though that we didn't get more Scourge of Europe flashbacks. I honestly believe if all four of the Aurelius line had souls; the scoobies would be out of work in a month. Such an awesome dynamic between them all. Wish Spike and Darla would have had more interaction; Benz and Marsters are in my top three actors from the show.

I've always had a strange kinship to both Spike and Angel; my great grandparents were immigrants from Ireland and even though Boreanaz is mostly Italian; I look like his fat drunken Irish cousin. My life more closely resembles Spike's though. Which means I get to enjoy those moments between them more than If i just liked one of them.

Spike's opening monologue is just the essence of his bad boy side; so it tickles me every time I hear it.

Once you see Seth Green being crazy in an open live setting; it just helps enforce how good an actor he really is when he plays the semi-straight man.

Oz had an expression and even seemed panicked when he was driving wounded Angel. Never saw him that expressive 😀
+Good to see him as something else than Willow's boyfriend.

I loved this episode. The whole Spike mocking Angel moment is the best thing ever. I freaked out the first time I watched it. Also, it was nice to see Oz out of Sunnydale. Another highlight was Spike running from Angel, where he pretends to give up and surrender.
