LIFE OF THE PARTY

The Good;
Great acting from Andy Hallet, really showing some range here. Love the characterisation of Sebassis, he's like a demonic Noel Coward. "Yes, yes, sycophants writhe before me, you disgust me!"

The Bad;
Why do Knox and co keep referring to last years party? I thought the Beast killed everyone except Lilah? Were they brought in from WR&H branches in other cities? Obviously this ep owes a lot to the Buffy ep Something Blue with the Lorne storyline thrown in. The monster Lorne just looks stupid, reminds me of Dr Jekyll from League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Jeez, how did they get away with that?
The Pee-Pee demon is SUCH a yucky concept. Equally Gunn staking his territory is eugghh! Personally I always found lack of sleep the worst torture imagineable.

Kinky dinky:
Voyeur Eve spies on naked Angel in the shower. She wonder if Angel needs some 'hands on' gentlemen's time. Harmony dancing! MMMMMMmmmm! Mercedes sure can cut a rug! Spike refers to Harmony as Angel's chippy just as CC did with the Furies. Angel considers Eve's quite lovely dress to be 'banging it out to the cheap seats'. Eve and Angel get it on big time, even with Lorne and Spike still IN THE ROOM! Eve has had sex under the 'great roofie spirit' before (maybe she ran into RJ's brother or dad?)

Eve comments that Angel takes a long shower 'for a guy'. Sebassis strokes the PP demon affectionately. Lorne talks about jacuzzi strategy sessions. Fred and Wes start coming together. Gunn stakes his territory on Angel's chair, does this mean he wants to replace him?

Lorne now loves Harmony and vice versa. He refers to Angel as Top Cat. Note Spike is now included in the AI meetings. Harmony now plays the CC role of saying what's true but what no one wants to say. Angel is a hockey fan as is DB. Who's raggedy Anne? They certainly do celebrate Halloween in England although not to the same degree as in America (in fact it's more celebrated in America than anywhere else including Ireland where it originiates from). Fred appear to be a violent drunk, good thing she stuck with cannabis. Wes' dancing has got a lot better since She.
Marks out of 10; 7/10 fun, nice to see Lorne get some decent screen time
 
I loved this episode as well. Goofy fun, but it managed to meaningful from a character standpoint - Lorne as Host is forced to judge characters from subconscious level.
 
Love this Lorne centric episode anything to do with Lorne usually makes me smile or I like.
There were so many funny moments such as the peeing.
One thing that did not please me was Eve putting the moves on my man Angel. I kid but that is the only thing that I didn't care to much for.
Fred and Wesley are a trip here and I thought this would be the lead in for them but darn that Joss always has to make things so sad.
 
What a funny Lorne centric episode. Fred and Wes drunk kept me very entertained. I do find this episode one of the funniest of Angel actually. How many times does Joss taunt us with couples a lot of fans pine for,and then rip it away from us because there is either someone else that someone likes or when they are finally happy one ends up dead!!! Harmony dancing, gotta love her. I'm glad they bought her in for S5. 'Lorneytoons'
 
Oh well... I never liked this episode.
Lorne removes his sleep and that causes him to control peoples actions because he is an empath demon and that's what happens when they don't sleep. That's stupid.

Gunn peeing everywhere, Spike being super positive, Angel and Eve having sex just wasn't funny. The only thing that was fun was drunken Wesley.
 
Does anyone know the name of the song they play during the dancing scene?? (when the employee yells "Conga!"; it's around 20 minutes into the ep) They also played it in The Girl in Question. I can't find the song since it has no lyrics and it's bugging me! lol

I looove this episode! In fact, in the previous ep I was lamenting that we haven't seen very much Lorne yet in s5, and I was missing him. Yes he's in his element at W&H but everybody seems so disconnected. So many good nicknames this ep: LorneyTunes, Harmonica, Milk Dud LOL.

Positive Spike has got to be the funniest thing in the episode. "Hey! Angel's gettin some! Good on you mate!"

I did feel a little sad when Fred asked Wes "What do you think of Knox?". Poor Wes.

In the 1st scenes, it sounds like Lorne could've been referencing Firefly/Serenity:
"It'll be fabulous. Believe me, Jerry. Yes. It's Grapes of Wrath in outer space. Uh-huh. Oh, it's got heart. Yes, it's got laser battles. It's got a timely message of interstellar poverty"
 
This episode was so funny, I couldn't stop laughing...Wesley and Fred drunk, Spike's all positive, Gunn peeing everywhere...Things I hated: Angel and Eve...absurd and horrible...it seemed like Angel was a bit disappointed in the end when she didn't give importance to what they did...don't make me stake you Angel...you can have way better than that stupid little girl...(see "Buffy").
 
Hilarious. I love Angel season 5 and think it's better than most season of BtVS, and this episode is one of the main reasons why. Angel and Eve sex FTW!!
