Love this! http://twitpic.com/610epf

Whedonesque says it's NSFYF (Not Safe For Yankees Fans), but that's fine by me lol. I actually don't know if this will be an actual cover (since they're supposed to be bases out of London). Maybe it's specially for the New England signing tour. Does anybody know?

I love the cover, looks great! Didn't know Angel and Faith were gonna be based in London but that's pretty interesting.

LOVE that cover!

Yankees suck! 😛

Although, I kinda feel it should be Bruins shirts they should be wearing because Angel loves hockey.

Agree and agree!
Shucks, I thought that they meant that it would be inappropriate for the "Day-um" Yankees, who every true Southerner hates, not the silly ol' baseball team.

Looks good. I'm planning to get at least one copy of every cover that comes out for both "Angel and Faith" and Buffy
Not me! In fact, I'd prefer that they release all the issues digitally. I'd rather pay less that way, since I prefer to actually own the TPBs. On their Facebook page, Dark Horse says that they're working on getting the digital rights for the Buffy comic books. I sure hope they do that before the new season starts.

Hey now! I may live in the South (do you guys in the 'ole South consider Oklahoma "southern"?), but I'm a Yankee through and through (born in Cleveland, raised in Chicago). So, not a New England or eastener, but upper midwest anyway. My husband is from Boston though, so I thought that cover was awesome!

The digital comics would sure make my life easier since I don't have a comic shop where I live & have to spend A LOT on shipping.

Oklahoma, then known simply as the "Indian Territory" was part of the Confederacy, so, yes, Oklahoma is, indeed, "southern." That makes you an adopted Southerner. Behave yourself, and you'll get full rights in a decade or so. Good luck.

I'm old school, I love comics, digital comics take the fun out of collecting. To paraphrase Giles, the smell of a book brings back memories 😀, having books on computer means there gone instantly and the reader has no real connection to the material

Digital comics are great, but just not for me

Oh no, I totally get that, I just prefer owning the TPBs, and I don't really need individual issues plus the TPBs. Although I guess I can just go ahead and sell the issues when I'm done. Still I wouldn't mind reading the issues digitally when they first come out with the plan of purchasing the TPB when it's released.

Wtf! Yankees > Red Sux. 😎 Like Kean said, they should have been wearing Bruins jerseys.

They mentioned it the other day on their FB page. Let's all inform each other if we hear anything further about it. I sure hope they get the rights before season 9 begins. 🙂

Hey now. I need to see a little more sympathy for the Yankees, and I'm saying this as a die-hard fan who has never been to a game or bought merchandise and who recently had to ask a friend "Which is the one that never wins the World Series? That's a baseball thing, right?"

...But my sister says that we are Yankees fans, and I believe her. Truth is I love this cover just because it sums up the New England life so perfectly. No corner of our six little states is safe from the battle of these two teams, and while it does vary with location (I moved twenty minutes closer to NYC and suddenly it's Sox everywhere), you still always have your representatives of both sides. I'm sure that most other lands have their token rival teams too, but I wouldn't have recognized any other pair.

I don't know how widely this cover will be distributed. I picked up the link for Whedonesque from the artist's Twitter, and this is all she said on it. I'm still looking for more info on the New England tour, because I really want to be there.

Oh, and as I explained elsewhere, Angel's wearing those team colors because Faith made him. Not wanting to fight, he acquiesced for this one night, and by lucky coincidence they found a Yank vampire to take down, and Angel, who had never cared about baseball before, suddenly discovered how much fun it was to defeat an enemy while crushing his team spirit at the same time.

I don't think this will really be distributed. On DH's FB page they had a post the other day linking to all of their August comics covers- regular & variant covers. The A & F covers were the ones we've already seen, not this one.

Lol! Although this is my adoptive home, I'm still an upper-midwesterner/Yankee/city girl at heart. Interesting fact that I had not known before: some Native American tribes I'n Oklahoma (the majority of whom were displaced from the east & southeast) owned African-American slaves themselves. In fact there has been a longstanding legal battle about whether these slaves are citizens of those tribes. I believe this issue is biggest among the Cherokee, although randiann can give more details.

Wow I am simply the Off Topic Queen tonight!

That is certainly something Angelus could have appreciated.
